Overview

Pull You Through by Kaylee Ryan

Life is a series of events, one leading you to another. The hell I lived through with my drug-addicted parents led me to the Marine Corps. Committing my life to my country was easy. My brothers were my family--all I had and all I needed. I wasn't looking for her, but I should have known life had other plans.

It led me to her.

From the moment we met, I knew he was different--I just didn't realize he'd change my life. He was a guy on leave, an acquaintance. Until he was something more, something unforgettable. I never imagined he'd leave ten days later, taking a piece of me with him. Then again, maybe I did know. I just didn't care.

He was worth it.

This book started out good and then just repeated itself for the last 75%. The characters thought and said the same things over and over and over again. It was so bad I stopped reading it.

Oh wow. I’ve just finished reading and I’m still in awe of this book. Since I was introduced to this author I’ve been impressed with every book I’ve read. This is no exception. Slade broke my heart. His past was tragic but it lead him to Austyn his girl. Military romance is one of my favourite genres and can be very emotional. This was real and raw not just happy ever after. Life is tough especially for a marine and Slades was exceptionally difficult. I can’t begin to explain the feelings I went through reading this book. All I can say is try it you’ll love it. (less)

I went into this book completely blind. I usually do not read Military/Marine romance but Kaylee Ryan never disappoints me so I dove in. I instantly fell in love with Austyn & Slade. I love the instant connection between the two of them. I love how Kaylee made this book feel like a true story. I fell like I learn so much about base life from what the marines experience as well as all the worry and the mindset of the people left at home while their loved ones are serving. I was absolutely terrified that something bad was going to happen. I may of shed quite a few tears. This is another really feel good book by Kaylee and I am honoured to have received an ARC.

This fangirl level review is brought to you by ugly cry, full swoon, and sweet overload. I look like a hot freaking mess after finishing this because Kaylee Ryan grabbed all my heartstrings while nailing me right in the feels with this beautifully emotional read. Filled with the sweetest of romance, characters that are so real you can’t help but feel like they’re you’re friends, and the feels. SO MANY FEELS. Pull You Through is one of Kaylee’s best books. Austyn and Slade are pure magic together. Immediate chemistry builds into one of the strongest, deepest loves I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. Austyn herself is a pillar of strength. The faith and devotion she has for Slade throughout their story was incredible and the sacrifices they both made are awe inspiring. Slade is just as wonderful himself. A lonely heartbreaking past leading him to find purpose and family with the Marines, Austyn was something he never saw coming but he embraced the love they found with open arms. I can’t say enough how much I truly love their story!

This book is everything I've come to expect from a Kaylee Ryan book, and so much more! I knew, going into this book, that it was about a military serviceman, and the potential was there for some serious subject matter. I also knew that no matter how serious it got, that it would be an amazing story! She definitely did not let us down! Slade had a rough upbringing, and he's all alone in the world. Even so, he becomes a proud Marine, gaining a whole new type of family. That family led to him meeting Austyn, and his life changing again, this time for the better. Austyn is an awesome friend, responsible daughter, hard worker, and good student. She has her whole life mapped out for herself, and then she meets Slade. Right from the beginning, she is supportive, loving, and just plain amazing! Their entire relationship is both insta-love, as well as a slow burn. This story is at times heart wrenching, but mostly a fabulous feel good story. It shows how hard military life is on both those that are deployed and those that are left behind. I found myself tearing up, more than once, thinking about how hard this life is for those that serve our country. Austyn and Slade's story had me on an emotional roller coaster, but left me smiling in the end. It's a beautiful, well written story, and will definitely be one that will go in my re-read pile!
