This is an excellent book to help you get started in searching and collecting sea glass. The history and information provided in this book, makes this book a great read. Being able to identify if a piece of sea glass is anywhere between 20 to 100 years old, or even more!!! If you have been beachcombing for sea glass, I reccommend this book. The authors of this book have been collecting their own sea glass for 20 years. Mrs. LaMotte uses these pieces to craft beautiful jewlery, which can be purchased on her website.

I am so glad i purchased this book! it is full of history, useful advice, and beautiful photography and organization. I also love how this book has various acknowledgements and good citation and credit. I know that this book will forever be useful and beautiful to me, and it will inspire me to covet sea glass even more :D Over time, I hope that I will get a myriad of different sea glass colors knowing that this book helped me out a lot with my collection.

I live at Lake Michigan and have been collecting beach glass for twenty years. This is the first book I have read that tells the rarity of the glass by color and the history of the colored glass. It is also a great book for someone collecting antique bottles because the history of many bottles from coca cola to poison are given. There is also a chapter about ceramic found at the beach and although I have not bothered collecting it before I believe I will in the future. The book inspired me to want to go and look for glass but unfortunately it is winter and I will have to wait for the spring thaw. I am sure I will refer to this book and the great photography often.
