This was my first introduction to the world of the Sin City Collectors, and I loved every second of it. The characters were fantastic, the story was thrilling, flirty and flowed right off the page, drawing me in from the very first page. Claude was a kick-ass, strong female lead, and I loved seeing her get into tiger warrior princess mode, but she also had a really soft heart and that was evident by the way she treated this particular collection. Her instincts were spot on and I was glad that she decided to dig a bit deeper instead of labeling Jason a thief outright. This story was fun and intriguing, but it also had plenty of heart. When the truth about Jason's keystone came to light, my heart broke for him because it left him even more vulnerable to Sloan's demands on him, and couldn't wait to see justice served for what had been done to him. I enjoyed everything about this book. It was a delight to read, and has definitely spurred my interest in the rest of the books in the SCC world. I can't wait to read more.

Omg this was the best book! I have to say, I absolutely love the Sin City Collectors series. Every time I read one I keep thinking it is the best so there's no way I could ever like another. But I am never disappointed. This runs a close race with Dead Man's Hand, also by Kristen Painter, in being my favorite. This gargoyle character, Jason, is hard to beat. Unfortunately, the collector Claudette, who is a feline shifter, has been sent in to collect Jason for stealing the queen of hearts jewel. Is he really guilty and that bad of a person, or critter. We find out that things aren't always as they appear. I also listened to the audiobook of this. Actually it is an audiobook of a boxed set with this book, Dead Man's Hand and Double or Nothing. Oh my it was great. If you like audiobooks or have never tried them, you should give this one a chance. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

As a fan of Kristen Painter I come in with love of a fan. I am never disappointed. The only thing is for me it was short. but expected when you get a novella. Jason and Claudette are steaming action heroes you root for. Gargoyles, shifters and many others such as Ares. I want more of him. This book is set in the perfect surrounding.... Sin City. Get it. Love it. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but with Kristen Painter writing you always come back for more.

Loved this novella. What a great story of the paranormal. I loved how they instantly attracted to one another yet couldn't act on it, because they were supposed to be enemies. This book was very well written. I could see it playing in my head as I read it. He was a strong gentle man yet she was just as strong in her own way. I loved how they accepted each other no matter what. I loved that she was quite spunky and took crap from no one. This is definitely a series to continue reading loved it.

Claudette and Jason's story is an extremely good second book in the Sin City Collectors series and a great follow-up to Aces Wild by Amanda Carlson. I loved Claudette's strong, in-charge character and the way Jason was willing to let her take control when needed. That said, Jason was a strong male character. Ms. Painter included just the right amount of suspense to keep the book interesting. And the foreshadowing for the Diesel's book has me anxious for its publication.

As I said in Amanda's Sin City novella, this is an excellent concept and it is executed well by both Amanda and Kristen.  This time we meet Claude who is dragged back in to the collection business, because you never can truly leave it, once they have their claws in to you, you are always a collector. Claude has to go undercover as a magicians assistant in order to capture a jewel thief. But things aren't always as they seem and falling in love wasn't supposed to be on the cards. Claude has to choose between her  job (and thereby her life) as the thief's. Its not as easy as it seems. There isn't a dull moment in this series and later in the book we meet a very interesting character Ares, I want to know more about him  and I'm hoping Kristen will write a novella around him. This is a great short read for when you don't have time for a proper reading session. If you're like me you'll find the book was too short and you'll be left curious and wanting to read more. The mixture of different supernatural creatures within Vegas makes the series interesting and keeps you coming back for more. If we're lucky maybe someone will even identify who the mysterious boss is later on in the series (heres hoping). I'll be waiting for the next novella to release!

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this novella, the second in the new Sin City Series, for review purposes. Although it is part of a series I think this would definitely work as a stand alone but my personal preference, as with most series, would be to read them in order. I found that having a basic knowledge of collectors from Amanda Carlson's previous novella increased my understanding of the world even though everything is explained again. I loved this! My only complaint would be that it was over too quickly. The characters fly off the page and they are SO unusual. I read a LOT of paranormal books and this series is all about NEW mythology, bringing to the page creatures that in the past have been overlooked or just act in the background. Queen of Hearts is like a sensational trip through Vegas. You have magic, you have theater, and of course you have passion! Kristen does an incredible job of bringing everything together and writing a real page turner. Fans of my reviews will know that I am NOT a  shifter fan but even THAT couldn't stop me from loving this one! A well earned 5 out of 5 stars from me! V""V

For a novel set in THE sin city, Painter lives up to the richness that the city embodies. This short novella will make you beg for a novel. Claude is a great character, rough around the edges, tough as diamonds, and fill with just the right amount of sass. She's a retired collector pulled back into the game for a job that she's not quite prepared for. I love it, it was lush just like Vegas, and gives you a hangover too, just like the trip! Such a good story. A solid mix of humor, action, and steamy attraction. I love the paranormal characters, and how they slide right into Vegas life, and you start to think... hmmm.. this is totally possible! :) Highly recommend it! It's the first full story by Kristen Painter I've read (I'm in one of her novels but not done) and I will say her voice in this novel is strong, witty and wonderful! Take a chance on Queen of Hearts!    *I was given a copy for review.
