About the Author
As soon as Minette Lauren was old enough to write, she composed a play in one act about the love of Seth and Beth, inspired by the movie, Gone with the Wind. Not deterred by the play’s questionable success, she has been in love with writing ever since. Growing up in a small town outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, has fueled a lot of her creative endeavors. She travels often and takes advantage of anyplace with a view that inspires her to write. Lauren now resides in Texas, where she co-writes with good friend Zoe Tasia under the pen name, Zari Reede. Lauren loves to write outdoors by her pool, with her five furry writing muses. Besides her menagerie of tail-wagging pooches, she also has a loving husband, three turtles, and a Macaw to keep her company. Together, they make all of her dreams come true.

Soledad's search for her soulmate stretches across life times. When she fails again, she is tasked to aid another while in spirit form. If successful, she will be reincarnated and hopefully, this time, find her truest love. Engaging story and wondering what is in store for readers in book 2.
I was given an advance copy of Race for the Sun in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! It was rich in detail and I grew to love the different perspectives - from Ally and from her angel, Soledad. Ally truly developed as a heroine throughout the story. She went from keeping to herself to finding three amazing men in her life. The story follows her journey of love and self discovery from a single woman with two dogs to a mother. It's well written, fast paced and held my interest. It's different than most romances and I appreciate the author's creative touch to not give the reader everything like other books. If you're looking for a new author or a story that isn't like most romance novels, I highly recommend this book!
