A superb disc all around. Hvorostovsky's voice is powerful and beautiful, his musicianship is top-notch, and his interpretations are probing. His partner, Ivari Ilja, does an excellent job accompanying and the effort is rewarded with a beautiful recording that highlights nuance and avoids the tiresome fate of too much reverb, which too often ruins many classical recordings. A show that is well worth the entrance fee!
