Description: This is the fourth edition of a well-known radiology book designed to highlight important facts and imaging findings in a variety of disease states using a question and answer format.
Purpose: Not intended as a comprehensive review of all of imaging, this book instead focuses on an overview of key concepts in imaging of different entities and disease states. This update has broadened the content and includes additional images and questions.
Audience: The audience is practicing radiologists and trainees. While the book is easy to read and concise, it is likely somewhat too basic for most practicing radiologists. However, it is ideally suited to medical residents and radiology trainees. The authors are from a variety of well-known institutions.
Features: The book holds true to the question and answer format of its predecessors. This format may make a focused search for a specific nugget of information somewhat difficult. However, the book does succeed in covering the important concepts of different organ systems with this approach.
Assessment: The book succeeds in its quest to provide highlights of imaging in a variety of disease states. It is well suited for radiology trainees in the early stages of training.
