Overview

Rafe by Jo Raven

His name is Rafaele Vestri, Rafe to his friends.
He's tall, strong, handsome. Distant. He often comes to the coffee shop where I work, but we don't talk much. He looks at me, though. Stares at me, his gaze heated, and I can't help but stare back. I want him, I won't deny it. I've never seen anyone that beautiful, anyone that powerful, in my life.
But he's growing more withdrawn by the day. Something's up, and he won't tell. I know about his past-the murder of his family when he was fifteen. I can imagine how much it must have cost him. So much violence contained in that strong body, waiting to be unleashed. What is he seeking? What is he training so hard for? Why is he looking at me like he's dying to touch me, but won't dare?
Even as I try to stop thinking about him, get interested in other boys, I realize I can't. I'm caught, body and soul, just like that. And I tell myself, Megan, girl... What have you gotten yourself into this time?

Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

The writing of Jo Raven is very engrossing. I hadn’t read anything by her before but I think I will be checking out the other books in the Inked Brotherhood series. Megan is a waitress and Rafe comes in to see her. He is broody and rugged. Megan wants to get closer to him. Rafe just wants to sleep and go about his way. I was very intrigued by this story and love the idea of these boys growing up to be there for each other having made their own “family.” I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Good ending to an "amazing journey". Really enjoyed the entire series. Got a little dark in all the stories but all were well written. Glad we'll find out what happens too some of the other fringe charactors. Thank you Jo Raven!

Great novel. The fell in love with Rafe. His story was amazing. Megan was great foil, her past was just as tortured and compelling. Really hot sex. I am somewhat tired of the author's descriptions because she uses almost the same ones in each book. Everyone toes off their shoes and socks, everyone's chest has some different candy flavor...tedious. But her characters descriptions are great. Rafe and Zane are my favorite males in the series. This book in particular had a good build up to the climax, interesting back stories to the characters and really nice cameos of my favorite characters in the previous books. I always love when Zane shows up. Rafe was such an enigma from the start that finally getting to know his story was great. And it was totally worth it.

4.5 star The story has laughs, grief, secrets, pain, suspense, twist & turns, and heartbreak. I would recommend reading the below before this book: Kiss Me Goodbye: Prequel to Asher (Inked Brotherhood, #0.5) Asher (Inked Brotherhood, #1) Tyler (Inked Brotherhood, #2) Zane (Inked Brotherhood, #3) Dylan (Inked Brotherhood, #4) This is Megan and Rafe’s story. Rafe is trying to track down a killer. He is determined to find the person who killed his family. He wants Megan but he keeps pushing her away. Megan has tried to get over Rafe but can’t stop the felling she is having. She is fighting her own demons. The more they fight the feeling the more they are pushed together. Is Rafe strong enough to keep pushing her away? Can Megan take another rejection if he pushes her? Can Rafe allow himself to have feeling for Megan? Who can you trust if even your own family is working against you? Can they catch a killer or will the killer catch them first? Will they come out of it alive? Or more broken then they were before? I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

I've thought about this for a while now. I'm leaving rp.
Reasons
I have a broken nook. Half the time I can't see what I'm typing.
I used rp as a runaway from drama, my family and my past. They're coming back to haunt me now.
Goodbyes
Will, Andy, Doc, Bw, Seth, Jake, Rain, Candace, Massy, Skylar,Lucas, Nathan, Cypher. Etc.
Other
Massy, you know how to keep in touch with Aqua.
This means Aqua, Project X and Raven are all leaving.
I'll be on sometimes. Once a year? Once a month?
Goodbye.
