Raphaella is an artist who can change shape. Her art is very abstract and she's pregnant. This is a story of her exploring her life and the world around her.Oh so not me, I barely finished this one and while it wasn't the worst read it just left me feeling meh. I didn't really care for the charcters or what happened to them and really couldn't care less who lived or died. It was readable however and moderately interesting but just didn't make me want to find more works by this author.

The novel is an abstract and artistic story, which I found very readable. The book follows the story of a reclusive artist, and her unhappy and confused childhood, and then her adulthood where she finally finds out where she came from. The story has some extremely well defined characters, and although the jumps from past to present and between characters can sometimes be confusing, the plot is pleasingly intricate, but does require some imagination on the part of the reader. I found this book engrossing and recommend it as something different.

A surreal tale of a selfish, disagreeable artist and all the selfish disagreeable people in her life, this felt like a potentially successful short story that was painfully dragged out to novel length. I rather liked the oddness and flat tone in the beginning of the story, but it soon became dull, repetitive and irritating. The denouement was flatly ridiculous. Warning: excessive eye rolling may cause ocular injury, proceed at your own risk.
