Overview

Rage of the Dragon (Dragonships of Vindras Series #3) by Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman

Skylan Ivorson is the gods-chosen Chief of all Vindras clans. But the gods from whom the Vindrasi draw their earth-dwelling power are besieged by a new generation of gods challenging them for the powers of creation. The only way to stop these brash interlopers lies within the Five Bones of the Vektia Dragon—which have been lost for generations. With the Gods of the New Dawn amassing a vast army, Skylan finds allies in former enemies. They must sail the Sea of Tears into the Forbidden Empire of the Cyclops to implement a cunning yet delicate plan that risks Skylan's life and leadership at every corner. But a new enemy lies deep in the sea, one who draws upon powers never harnessed by land dwellers.

New York Times bestselling authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman deliver another action-packed Dragonships novel with Rage of the Dragon.

Greatest duo of writers that I have ever read. Can't wait to read the finale

Great characture development and color to the story lines in the three books so far. I am certain that the next will be as intersting if it will be published before I have lost track and get to read them all again.

No intelligent dragon would ever permit it. Rage of the Dragon is the third (out of four?) in the Dragonships series and I would have given this one a five star review except the authors backed away from a great ending and went for the crowd pleaser instead. I still loved it, but I wish they would have at least saved the reversal for the next book (you’ll see what I mean). Still a great series with a really interesting setting. Weis and Hickman are old hands at this sort of thing, and their expertise shows as they continue to expand this new universe. I only wish I would have waited to read this until I had book four in hand. Ugh - the waiting!

There was a point in time while reading this series I had to stop just so I did not throw the book at the wall due to Skylan's actions. That being said, I later picked up the series and questioned why I EVER put it down. I loved the character developement and overall story telling of the series. I would be severely dissapointed if the fourth book was not at least given a preorder option or some hint to it being written. It was a great read, one I would definatly recomend. 5/5
