Overview

Rain of Terror (Destroyer Series #75) by Warren Murphy, Richard Sapir

An Electro-Magnetic rail is buried somewhere in the desert, launching hundred ton locomotives. They are falling from the sky and terror is raining down across the country. The Lobynian Colonel Intifada is the mastermind but Smitty is preoccupied with a new computer system--and its accuracy is never questioned. Maybe the old ways of Sinanju are needed to get the answer for CURE. Remo and Chiun must team up from Switzerland, Sweden, the UK and the desert to stop the destruction.

Remo Williams is The Destroyer, an all-American cop recruited--through highly unorthodox methods--to serve in CURE, a covert government organization. Trained in the esoteric martial art of Sinanju by his aged Korean mentor, Chiun, Remo is America's last line of defense against mad scientists, organized crime, ancient undead gods, and anything else that threatens the Constitution. An action-adventure series leavened with social and political satire, the Destroyer novels have been thrilling readers worldwide for decades.

I first read some of the Destroyer series when I was in high school back in the 80's, but didn't have many available to me. Finding them on the Nook has been wonderful. They are as much fun to read now as they were then. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series hit the Nook.
