Random Thoughts Pleasures … brings to the surface, extra ordinary thoughts and views of the author. The book reveals his ideas and analysis regarding things ranging from small and insignificant objects such as dried fall leaves to large clusters like the universe. Oh no, not all of his thoughts, views and analysis are divided neatly into articles. You will find several pages of poetry (couple of the poems were written by his friends). Again, that’s not all; on some pages you will see ‘valuable’ letters by him, as well as to him. The author, who as a diplomat had traveled far and wide, was from eastern world; spent half his life traveling (to countries from south to north as well as from east to west) or living in the western world, has written about some of the places he visited and about the country of his origin as well. This book is an aromatic spice, covering a large variety of subjects, such as some teachings from one of the sacred books of a religion (almost as old as the mankind) as well as a walk on Lido beach and a poem about Remembering Future and a letter to a friend, so touching that you would want to be his/that friend or even may have the desire to meet the addressee. Also you will surprise yourself reading about the duality he believed in, his trip to Paris twice in a period of 3 years makes him ponder about Tyranny of Symmetry in Modern Science and his critical look at the subjects and theories (many of us learn as students in schools and later) and their meaningfulness and/or applicability. Facts and fantasies (his imagination as well as analysis of various subjects and objects) appear in this book, both in the form of poems as well as articles. This is a book you can read anywhere, carry with you from place to place, talk to anyone about and perhaps scribble on it or be inspired to write your own views, thoughts, dreams, aspirations and imaginations. Many poems are worth putting into musical scores (remember that the book is copy righted). Random Thoughts Pleasures … by Kan D. Mariwalla is worth carrying along as a companion (136 pages).
