It's a great book and does a really good job of giving you the basic physiology behind a lot of the disease processes. It also explains a lot of the time how to approach the management. The one biggest, and potentially most important pitfall of this book I found is when it comes to management. It tells you what the appropriate actions to take, however, sometimes fails to inform you of what is the appropriate manner in which to proceed. The other major pitfall is the book is a little bit older than some of the other Step 3 review books. Overall I think its a great place to start to review but definitely need to supplement this with another source.
