Overview

On the very day that Jacky Faber is to wed her true love, she is kidnapped by British Naval Intelligence and forced to embark on yet another daring mission—this time to search for sunken Spanish gold. But when Jacky is involved, things don’t always go as planned.

Jacky has survived battles on the high seas, the stifling propriety of a Boston finishing school, and even confinement in a dank French prison. But no adventure has quite matched her opportunistic street-urchin desires—until now.

Words cannot describe how much I love this series. I finished reading Rapture of the Deep in only 6 days. The story line hooked me after the first paragraph and didn't let go till the last. It was so nice to meet new faces and encounter some old ones. Especially Richard Allen (be still my beating heart). There is going to be another book, but there hasn't been an announcement as to the date. I pray that it is soon.

The latest novel from the Bloody Jack series is so full of adventure and suspense, you will never want to put the book down. LA Meyer does it once again, only this time Jacky's story takes place down in the Keys and in the beautiful county of Cuba. Jacky, wanting to clear her name and all charges with the British, sets out to find the sunken treasure from the Spanish vessel, Santa Magdalena. Not only does Jacky and her crew find the treasure, they also encounter pirates, alligators, a poisonous sea eel, along with many other twists and turns that Meyer always loves to throw at us. Along with the adventure and suspense, this novel, like the others in the series, also has a beautiful love story. The ongoing chase of romance between Jacky and her future husband to be, Jamie, again has their relationship tested throughout the book. All and all, Rapture of the Deep is now my favorite novel from this series. Meyer has Jacky's character's voice so down pat, it's incredible. I can not wait for the next Bloody Jack book to be released! I would recommend this book to anyone that loves adventure, suspense, romance, or intrigue. It is just an outstanding read that I know everyone will enjoy.

My daughter and I have been listening to the series when we take trips. We have become so addicted that we have recommended to several people, and they in turn have become addicted and can't wait to read the next in the Jacky Faver series.

It all started with a girl name Mary who was part of the Rooster Charlie Gang. Then later disguised herself as a boy and thus met her new friends and a boy name Jaimy. Now we have Jacky getting ready to be married to Jaimy at last As she's set to go to the Church, fate takes another turn and Jacky must embark on yet another mission for British Intelligence. She must go in search of a ship and there will find treasure that she must retrieve. While covering it up as a scientific expedition with Dr. Sebastian who joins Jacky and crew on their trip. The books to be honest get better and better as you read it and recommend reading the first book to know the characters and how Mary became Jacky. The writing style of L.A. Meyer flows well and gives detail to the locations in the story as we read through Jacky's eyes even the characters are well developed. Plus Jacky meets not one but two familiar faces. The ending was good though I'm hoping that its not the end of Jacky's adventures and gets reunited with Jaimy. It leaves you thinking that they'll definitely be another book. I only wonder what will happen in the next book in the series, Bloody Jack.

This installment of L.A. Meyer's "Bloody Jack" adventures is a non-stop thrill ride across the ocean with our favorite girl-pirate, Jacky Faber. Rejoin her crew to visit old friends and meet new ones, and to continue the never-ending chase of her true love, Jaimy. Fans of Jacky will not be disappointed by all the danger and mischief our girl gets into once again!

This is a splendid series -- a virtual tour of early 19th century world history told with style and spirit (a truly adventurous one). Miss Jacky Faber is one clever young lady (who does, at times, quite unladylike things). But all she does is with a good heart and an eagerness to experience all that life tosses up at her. This world needs more heroes and heroines. Here, then, is Jacky Faber to fulfill that mission...and entertain us mightily. Dave Lawrence Coral Gables, Florida

This series has always topped my list of favorites, but with the addition of Rapture of the Deep it has climbed even higher. Rapture was definitely everything I was expecting it to be, and then some. I adored the new character's Meyer introduced, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing many of my old favorites again. Perhaps my favorite part of this book was the fact that Jaimy finally got some well-deserved screen time. I highly recommend this book (and the rest of the Bloody Jack series).

These are the best books i read in a while. Even though teen books, the books are for any age. However, I would say for ages 12 &up. Books on cd for this series is even better.

Yet another wonderful tale by Meyer in the Bloody Jack series. While these novels do seem to take on a fomulaic sense found in many series, Meyer manages to bring in many things new that keep the sequells from feeling stale. The books continue to be hard to put down. Meyer continues to weave in history and social reality but always with the freshness of Jacky herself which makes the tales a present reality. I actually find myself waking in the night to read another bit. Highly recommended.
