About the Author

The author and illustrator, Arlene Sevilla grew up on a farm in northern Wisconsin around a lot of cats and other animals, and has a deep love for animals. The characters in Rattles Goes to the City were all based on Arlene's family members. Even the cat, Rattles, was a real cat who was very friendly, had a loud, endearing purr, and actually ended up going from Grandma's farm to the author's home in the city.

Arlene lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and works as an Art Teacher. She holds two master degrees, one in Visual Arts and one in Business, and also is co-owner of a business, HallBark Gourmet Greetings, which makes edible cards and unique treats for dogs.
