Overview

Reaching Chinese Worldwide by G. Wright Doyle

Reaching Chinese Worldwide introduces the many ways in which Christians may communicate the truth and love of God in Christ to Chinese around the world. Drawing upon four decades of reading and experience, the author first lays a biblical foundation for cross-cultural witness, then briefly explores the various facets of ministry among Chinese: Preparation, Presence, Proclamation, Points of Contact, "Perfection" of Believers, Participation in the Body of Christ, Performance of Good Works, and Partnering with God.

This nearly comprehensive survey contains both fundamental principles and practical suggestions useful for all those wanting to make a Christian impact on China.

Due to the global cultural shift, all Christians should “reevaluate our methods, and perhaps adjust our plans,” for reaching not only the Chinese but the world, with the gospel of Jesus. In this book, Dr. G. Wright Doyle, a trained linguist, speaks as “a practitioner who has tried to avoid total ignorance of the essential theological and theoretical work of scholars in the [mission] field” in China. Based on biblical teachings, and with his missionary experience, Dr. Doyle provides helpful and practical instructions for those who seek to evangelize to Chinese both in China and overseas. Over all, this book is full of treasures, not only because of its emphasis of a Christ-centered and Bible-founded missiology, but also of the challenges Dr. Doyle provides. This should be a book for all those who want to serve the Chinese community.
