I saw this image of Jesus reaching out and I thought, this is our goal in life. Reaching out to the lost, the poor, the hurting, the ones who have lost their way, and the ones who may only need comfort or a kind word as they go along life's way.

About the Author
I wrote my first poem about ten years ago. Every time I would look at it, I would say to myself, “You did not do this.” This went on for years, until one day, I decided to show it to a friend. He said, “This is not bad.” So I decided to show it to my mother, and she asked if I could get a copy of it. This planted the seed. I had always wanted to write a Mother’s Day card to let her know how grateful I was to her. On Friday evening following Mother’s Day in 1998, while watching In Touch Ministries, it started coming to me. I wrote the one entitled, My Godly Mom. A couple of months later, I began writing consistently. Within four months, I had written over four hundred poems and as many as fifty-four in one week.
