Being a mother and grandmother, reading was essential to my 2 now grown children and grandchildren. I read to them while they were in the womb and my daughter followed suit with her twin boys. My daughter and son started reading when they were about 2 years old and by the time they were in 1st grade, they were reading 2 grade levels above average. The same for my twin grandboys (who are 8 at the time of this book publication), they're home-schooled and started reading at about 18 months then tested at about the 2nd grade reading level at age 6. I believe that pre-literacy starts in the womb before a baby is born because the environment created for an unborn child is just as vital as the environment created after they arrive in the world. This was the pathway for writing the Read to Your Babybump book, which is also in Chase's Calendar of Events Book as National Read to Your Babybump Month in annually in May and was approved for a Longview City Proclamation on May 2, 2022.

About the Author

Corletia Dunlap Banks started out as a single 18 year old mom to a daughter but not letting those odds or statistics shadow their lives. Today, married with 2 adult children and grandmother to twin boys that she loves and spoils. She has always been a creative and lover of books so while working in the school environment for 20 years, she caught the bug for children's books. She would buy numerous books from school book fairs and Scholastic Book Club for her daughter and son when they were young and was just as thrilled to read the books to them as they were to read themselves. After many years of wishing to write one herself and jotting down oodles of book ideas, faith steps were set in motion with her first self-published series, the "Sorry,"...Book Series and more to come.
