If you're looking to actually bring up your score for the SAT in these subject areas, don't get this book. I struggle with the critical reading sections which include the sentence completions, and I don't feel like this book has taught me anything new or helped increase my score at all. The questions in this book are either too easy, or are types of questions that are not seen on the actual SAT. I'm pretty good at grammar, and sure theres some tips (maybe like 2), but i don't feel they're legitimate considering I've found several mistakes already and I'm only halfway done with the chapter. The explanations for answers are also abstruse- at some points it just tells you to "eliminate choices A, B, and E because they don't make sense". But what if you seriously struggled with that question and wanted to know why those don't work? Same goes for the sentence completions- the book tells you that specific words listed as choices just don't work, but most of the time it doesn't supply their definitions. I ended up having to look a lot of them up on my computer as i was checking my answers. So I suggest not wasting your money on this book and investing it in one that'll actually help make a difference in your scores.
