While most of us are still reeling in disbelief of just how huge the real estate crash has been since we woke up out of the fantasy circa 2005 that the only way to assure security was to invest in real estate - both personal and commercial - Peter Ingersoll lays it all out in easy to understand language while at the same time offering sage advice on how to 1) cope with what he terms the 'real estate tsunami' and 2) how to make sense of if all and pick up and go from here. Peter Ingersoll 'is a registered investment advisor who works exclusively with buyers and accredited investors to create a treasure map to safely navigate the treacherous waters of commercial real estate investing.' With those (and other equally impressive) credentials he has us from the first page of this well-designed and very well written book. Using a warm conversational style of writing, well mixed with humor and thankfully a lot of reality, Ingersoll takes us through the causes for the 'bubble', how it happened, what we can do and can't do about it, and charts a path to recovery. He places himself securely as the captain of the boat that will take us, his crew, there. His experience shows on every page and he gives many examples of various situations, dilemmas, conundrums, and modes of exit that are sound and reassuring. Ingersoll leaves the reader of this exceptional book with the reinstatement of trust in how to survive. Hw is unafraid to point out just where and how things went wrong in a very serious way - something quite missing from other books on the subject. This reader admires his honesty and also his reassurance that we need not be victims of a system gone awry, but that we can succeed with some study and thought which are both, gratefully contained in this book. The subtitle of the book sums it up - 'SURVIVOR'S GUIDE: PROSPERING IN TODAY'S FINANCIAL STORM. Read it - and welcome back to sanity! Grady Harp
