This lost but now rediscovered 217-page account by Mary L. Lewes chronicles real ghosts, fairies, witches, hauntings and family curses of the United Kingdom. It is an interesting and disturbing read that only reconfirms what those who believe in the supernatural already know.

I found this book a little difficult to read at first because it was written more than a century ago, but once I got into what it was documenting, I found it fascinating. The stories based on true incidents are quite horrific and measure up to today's paranormal fare. I recommend it.
