Reviewed by Vernita Naylor for Readers' Favorite Would you know what to do if a hurricane hits? If you feel an earthquake and you are in your office, where should you hide and take cover? Do you and your family have an emergency evacuation or disaster plan? Prolific serial writer and author Richard Lowe Jr. can provide you with not only the answers to your questions, but teach you and your children how to prepare for a disaster. In his latest book, Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide: Preparing for and Surviving Disasters with Survival Skills, he has taken some of his various experiences in overcoming some natural disasters to create this guide, which displays both first hand knowledge and accounts in surviving disasters of various types. In Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide, you will be given the essence of a road map or blueprint of everything that you need to consider and do to prepare for when, not if, a disaster occurs in your area. Personally, I was intrigued by how much detailed knowledge and information Richard Lowe Jr provided in Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide. Richard Lowe Jr does not disappoint - he's thought of everything that is needed from insurance, preparing a go-bag and first aid kit, to creating a plan. As I began to read through each section, I was elated by the rich wealth of information that Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide contained. It helped me to reflect more deeply about how a disaster would greatly affect me and my family living in the earthquake capital of the world, the San Francisco/Bay Area. In Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide, there is also a glossary that is helpful in understanding the terms relating to a disaster. One action item that I charged myself to do immediately is to take a Civilian Emergency Response Team (CERT) class for emergency preparedness. Get ready, get prepared and do it now, but take a copy of Real World Survival Tips and Survival Guide: Preparing for and Surviving Disasters with Survival Skills by Richard Lowe Jr with you.
