A well-written, informative, interesting, and touching account of the first year of the war in West Virginia and the creation of the new state.
Well written. A lot of details that I, a native West Virginian, had never known. Its amazing that there were any survivors at all considering the conditions. This should be required reading in our West Virginia high schools.
