Rebels of Mindanao is a fascinating true-to-life action adventure where a former US military man is asked to undertake a special mission to defeat Al Queda backed militants in the Philippines. I really couldn't put this book down and hope there is a sequel soon. The author's knowledge of the real situation on the ground in Mindanao -- allies we can't really trust, militants with mixed and confusing motives, an incompetent CIA, and enigmatic locals truly takes you on site.
