This book is a must read for any person looking for a new job! It doesn't matter if you are currently employed or unemployed. It doesn't matter if you have never had a job or have had a dozen jobs. This book will be the best investment you will make. I found it an incredible insight into the hiring process from the employer's perspective. It felt like I should feel guilty about knowing the inside scoop on the process, but I'm glad that I do! Not only was reading the book empowering to me as a job seeker, it made me excited about taking control of my future! And don't we all want that? This book is a great gift to all people wanting to move forward in their careers and lives.

Elizabeth takes fear out of the equation. I had a good paying career. Yet, fear was governing my life. I remained (25 years) in a position with an agency that mistreated employees and lacked appreciation for their workforce. People were taken advantage of. I was very unhappy. "Recession Proof Yourself" shows you the light at the end of the tunnel. It gives you pratical advice, easy tools to use in order to systematically seek out a position, working in an enviornment that you are compatible. I also had the opportunity to work directly with Elizabeth for Career Counseling. Three months after reading her book, and working with Elizabeth, I found a great job working in a positive enviornment treated respectfully and appreciated. I am very happy. Thank you, Elizabeth!

To give a little background: I would describe my career situation as discouraging. I will be graduating this spring with a B.S. in accounting and have had little to no luck in my ongoing job search. I was recently given this book by a friend who thought it might be both an uplifting and informative read. They mentioned it'd be a "quick and dirty" guide to navigating an economy in recession. After reading this book, they were spot-on. Elizabeth Lions does an excellent job of writing captivating and informative quick read that will provide great insights and motivation to any discouraged job seeker. Furthermore, it is not only for those are unemployed and seeking work. It is written in such a way that ANYBODY in any situation could find use in its message. Whether you are a college student seeking an internship, or a established professional seeking a career change, Recession Proof Yourself is a worthwhile read.
