Chloe Daniels past definitely affects the decisions she makes in her present. She owns a semi successful toy store, but hires women who need help getting a new start in their lives. Ben “The Beast” is a celebrity chef who has gotten famous for his loud voice and obnoxious behavior in the kitchen. He moves back home and decides that the location of his new restaurant would be perfect where Chloe’s toy store resides. You can guess what happens next, but not the impact they have on each other’s lives. This book has a lot more depth than I had thought it would! Both of these characters had a lot of serious back story and had to work hard at making their relationship work. I was struck by Chloe’s need to help people, her past job as a social worker definitely defining her character. Ben was everything she was afraid of in a man, loud, blustery and big, but she had the fortitude to see through all of that to a caring man who wanted to make a nice life for his brother’s kids. Even though some of the subject matter was rather serious, Michelle Major did a good job of mixing in some humor and then also giving us a great distraction. Will he make her shut down her store? Will she make a success last minute and save it? This was a sweet and serious book that Will connect with a lot of ladies. The added benefit is a Gordon Ramsey-esque fantasy love story, but our heroine is not just interested in falling in love. Chloe wants to make a difference for people, and that’s a message that I enjoy reading about! ❤❤❤❣

Michelle Major’s latest, Recipe for Kisses, is a sweet romance with a lot of heart. It also tackles very serious subjects, including domestic abuse. Chloe Daniels runs a toy store filled with woman who are moving forward after being in abusive relationships. Chef Ben Haddox is all fire and bluster, nicknamed the Beast. Together he and Chloe figure out they are both more than their past and what other people think of them. Helping them along in their journey are Ben’s niece and nephew Abby and Zach. The two kids make the story so much richer and Major’s characterizations are spot on. Ben and Chloe are not typical couple, but they bring out the best in each other. This is the second book about a group of friends. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one and definitely going back to read the first. Copy received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

*ARC received from Montlake Romance Publishing in return for an honest review* Chloe is a toy store owner and her shop is in danger of being closed down unless she can convince the new building owner to renew her lease. Ben, a TV chef famous for his bad temper, has an ulterior motive for choosing the location of Chloe's store as the site for his new restaurant. Ben is under a lot of pressure from various sources and the one thing that seems to soothe him is being around Chloe, and while Ben might be big and have a tendency to be loud when angry or upset, Chloe knows he would never hurt her physically. She is more worried about her heart. Can their relationship survive when it's time to make a decision about the toy store? This book is a great read. I loved the characters and the author's writing style. There is a realistic feel to this story and I would love to read more by this author.

Loved this story. Two broken souls who resist the chemistry between them. "Hottie Chef also know as the Beast" Ben is back in Denver taking care of his niece and nephew when he meets Chloe, who owns the Toy Chest. She has just gotten out of an abusive marriage and employs woman , who have involved in domestic abuse. She is very nervous of Ben and his known history of verbal abuse from his tv show. Chloe soon finds that inner heart of Ben. This is a fast based story that is filled full of emotion and growth of the characters. This is my first book by this author but will not be my last.

I really enjoyed this book and it's characters! There's just something about watching people scarred from their past be able to heal and move forward in life that warms my heart. The main couple were great, but even the supporting characters in this one were something special. Highly recommend! Chloe Daniels left a damaging marriage and buried herself in opening The Toy Chest in Denver several years ago. Her world is rocked when the future of her toy store is threatened. Ben Haddox, celebrity chef extraordinaire, comes waltzing back into his home town with plans to show all the haters and naysayers what a success the childhood troublemaker had become. When he comes across Chloe as a stumbling block, he's stumped ... because he actually likes her! Will Chloe let her defenses down enough to let Ben show her that he's not the ogre the media has made him out to be all these years? And will Ben show he's a better man by forgiving himself for the past and having a better future? ** Received free in exchange for an honest review **

I really enjoyed this one and found the storyline fascinating. These two characters should never have worked together but yet they did. Chloe is newly divorced and working to regain her self esteem after getting out of her abusive marriage. She's bought a little toy store and is happily rebuilding her life. Ben is loud, gruff, angry, and determined to have his way. He's back in his hometown caring for his niece and nephew as well as his father. Opening his restaurant in the location that is currently occupied by Chloe's toy store is his single minded mission. The sparks between these two can be felt and they seem to bring out the best in each other. Neither has the time or desire for romance though. Somethings can't be stopped though! I definitely recommend this one.
