For the record, I’m not going to hook up with my boss.

I'm a lot of things—a screwup, a basket case, a flunky. But when I take a nanny job to be near my pregnant sister, I swear to myself I’ll walk the straight and narrow, which means I cannot fall for my insanely hot boss.

I don't want to be tempted by that rugged rancher. By his chiseled muscles or southern charm or the way he snuggles his kids at bedtime. Ethan Carter won't get the key to my heart, no matter how much I want him.

Between us, she's the last thing I need as I finalize my hellish divorce.

What sane man trying to rebuild his life wants a hot nanny with long, sexy hair, curves for miles, and a smart mouth? A perfectly kissable, pouty mouth that I shouldn't notice.

My focus is on my kids and my ranch, not the insufferable siren who sleeps in the room next to mine. It doesn't matter that she wins over my kids in a heartbeat or runs my life better than I do. Tori Duran is the one woman I can't have and shouldn't want, no matter how much I crave her.

"Reckless" (Texas Nights Book 2) by Lex Martin is a terrific read. I loved Tori and Ethan's story. I enjoyed catching up with Katherine, Brady, and Izzy. This is a great addition to this series, packed with romance, passion, drama, hot cowboys, humor, family, and more. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series in Logan's story, "Breathless". Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, and series.

Sassy, down on her luck Tori takes a nanny job with hot single-dad Ethan and the sparks fly! This was a sexy, fun, roller coaster of a romance with great characters and an “omg, I did not see that coming!” twist. This was my first book by author Lex Martin and also narrators Savannah Peachwood & Stephen Dexter on the audiobook. Excellent story & storytelling- look forward to more works by both the author & narrators.

My favorite books are those that make you FEEL. I can honestly say this book made me laugh, cry, and smile uncontrolably. I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and this book tops all of my favorites by him. Its one of those books that I am heartbroken over the fact that it is over! I couldn't put it down! if you're iffy on what book to pick up next... CHOOSE THIS ONE. Its worth it.

## WOW. This book was astounding. I laughed, I cried, and I smiled. I absolutely could not put it down. Tori was a doll. I loved how funny she was; how feisty she was; how honest she was; how she put her whole heart into her relationships. My only complaint is that the crazy ex-wife was in the story. I know, I know, every book needs a conflict. But man, I wanted to smack her, or smack the hero for putting up with her. Anyway, what a fabulous read! Highly recommended.

I have been very fortunate in the past few weeks to read some really good books, which makes it harder for me to just give four or five stars (ratings) to some books. But that is definitely not the case with Reckless by Lex Martin. One of the best parts of reading Reckless is that I got to read it for pleasure, it wasn't one that I was signed up to read for my blog. It was one that I had marked down as wanting to read and someone from my book challenge picked it as one of the two books this month I should give a try - and I am definitely glad I did. We are introduced to Tori, a wild-child, looking to make some money and be close to her sister who is soon expecting her first baby. Tori just wants to find something that will pass the time, make her income and then be on her way, but fate has other plans. In walks Ethan and his two beautiful children into Tori's lives and it is meant to be. When the idea is planted that Tori could be Ethan's nanny, sparks fly between the two - and not necessarily good. However, when Ethan's children take to Tori like (well you know the saying) then their lives soon begin to intertwine. Martin's ability to write and tell a story is magnificent, nothing ever feels forced and the story just flows so wonderfully together it seems like it is meant to be. The characters are so well written and have so much potential that the book just seemed to write itself. Martin does a great job in creating two people who just fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, nothing seems forced and the plot line is fantastically sewed together. I loved the interactions that Ethan and Tori had together - whether it be a date night a local restaurant with the kids and Ethan's brother, or watching the game on t.v, the two just seemed to naturally fit together. Martin has written a story that has it all, finding yourself, finding love and that love conquerors all. I absolutely enjoyed reading Reckless by Lex Martin, as it was a beautifully written story about two people who find each other when they really aren't looking for love. It shows you how you can find yourself, while finding love and that at the end of the day - what matters most is what's in your heart. Martin is a gifted writer who has given the gift of this book to her readers and is definitely a book that should be added to your To-Be-Read Shelf. Fantastic read! A definite five star review !

I truly thought this book was amazing. The author thought out everything with this book and I was sad when it ended. I highly recommend spending the money to buy this book!

333 pgs. Sweet story even though the male lead character annoyed me some by letting people get away with things he should have shut down instantly. Some steamy scenes but there was more to the story than just that

Can we talk about this cover? I mean, come on! I adore it so much. It's stunning, and so Ethan and Tori. I just keep going back and gazing at it. Beautiful! This book was such a joy to read, I loved every second of it. I loved Shameless so much and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Reckless, and it didn’t disappoint. It was sweet and sexy. Totally a standalone, it's set years after Shameless, although Kat and Brady do make appearances it's not necessary to read their story first, but seriously, why wouldn't you? They're awesome. I love Lex’s writing, the way she pulls you into the scene and the story that you lose all sense of where you are and who is around you. I got lost a lot with this book, I was torn between wanting to get to the end and find out what happened to wanting it to last longer. It was all the things. It's not a secret that I adore single parent stories, there is just something about the struggle the parent goes through and somebody coming into their lives and loving the children like their own, ya know? It gives me all the feels. In all honesty, I wasn’t particularly fond of Tori in Shameless, but I totally loved her in this book, she was feisty and vulnerable. I really felt for her a few times through the story. The way she cared for the children and stood up for herself. Yes! Tori’s growth through the story was wonderful to see and the development of her character really made the story. Ethan, oh boy, I wanna save a horse and ride a cowboy too, especially if he’s anything like the sweet, hardworking, loving father that Ethan is. He wasn’t afraid to say he screwed up. I just adored him. Logan was a great side character, that bad boy needs a book. Friends to Lovers? Yes please! Seriously, Lex, I'll do almost anything, just gimme! Allison, ugh, I hated her. So much. I wanted to throat-punch her on more than one occasion. Mila and Cody stole the show, they were the sweetest things. The way Ethan and Tori's relationship started and progressed and changed was wonderful to be a part of. There wasn’t a lot of angst, the conflict was not dragged out and I really enjoyed that about this story. It really focused on their relationship together and with the children - some of those moments were so precious. I may have teared up at seemingly random moments. It had some great humour, usually courtesy of Logan, but it wasn't overused. The sexy times were sexy, for sure, but also pretty swoonworthy too. It was simply beautiful.

I read Shameless when it first released, and I really enjoyed the story and the writing. I couldn't wait for another! First off, Ethan: a tatted, hard working, ranching single dad. Second, there are two adorably amazing kiddos. Third, their family is so great that I wanted them to adopt me! When Tori comes into the picture, she's not exactly experiencing the best part of her life and is on a self-proclaimed diet of "no men." When thrust into this family as the nanny, Tori and Ethan don't start off on the same page, but she is absolutely terrific with his kids. I could relate to how Tori was feeling at the start of this story. She felt used, replaceable, and ultimately like she wasn't worth "love" to any real and good man. "'s that guys like Ethan don't settle down with girls like me. I'm fun. A good time. A way to burn off steam or sow some wild oats. Not someone you keep." Ah, how many times have I felt that way? Life had handed out some really harsh lessons, and Tori took those a little too closely to heart. Ethan is ultimately a good man. He is trying to care for his kids, be strong for his family, solve their problems, and still stay sane. He doesn't have time for love, nor is his heart open for love. When Tori drops in, she's too much for him to handle, at first. She exactly what he's been trying to avoid and it takes all he has to keep her at bay. Of course it starts with attraction, but when he finally lets himself open up, he sees there is so much more than meets the eye. The one thing I didn't like was the conflict with the ex-wife. Not the conflict itself, but more so how it played out. I understand why and where the conflict came from, but something about it was a bit .. much for me. Overall I totally loved seeing this family come together. "Once upon a time, I didn't believe in fairy tales. But then I found my prince. And we saved each other."

Reckless is another flawless hit by Lex Martin!! If I could live in her book world, I would be one very happy woman! She gives her readers just the right amount of happy, sexy, angst and feels!! She also delivers strong characters that you fall in love with and Ethan and Tori are no different. Tori has some flaws, but that is what makes her real and relatable! And Ethan??? The brooding, single dad that is so amazing with his kids? MAJOR SWOON ALERT! Who wouldn't fall in love with him?? I definitely cannot fault Tori for falling for her boss! They balance each other out and are the perfect match. I cannot wait to see where the author takes us in this series! I can only hope we see snippets of the past characters and where they are now! I adored seeing more of Brady and Kat from Shameless! It's always great to see them doing so well!

Shameless was the first book I ever read by Lex Martin and I didn't think it was possible to love any other Lex Martin book more than Shameless and she proved me wrong. She absolutely stole my heart with Reckless. I love, Love, LOVED the sh*t out of Reckless! The story is amazing and Ethan...Don't even get me started on Ethan. He's so dreamy! *insert heart eyes* I would seriously have his babies if I could and I'm not a maternal person, so that says a lot about his character. lol But he's so good with his kids and the way he treats Tori is everything I want in a man. I truly envy Tori and want Ethan all for my own, but I'll settle for her having him since I can't have him. lol I highly recommend Reckless to all romance lovers out there and give it five out of five stars!

How do you mend a tattered self-image? How do you repair a wild child reputation? What will it take for people to take you seriously? Tori thought unknowingly sleeping with a married man ruined her, and it nearly did mentally. Lucky for her, Kat is there for her and wants to get her out of her funk. Enter Ethan, Kat's neighbor. He's a single dad in need of a nanny for a couple of months. Boy, was he not prepared for what he was getting. No matter what he feels for Tori, she is great with his kids and they love her. He vows to stay away from her, but as we all know that will never happen. These two do not communicate except with their bodies. Tori keeps wondering where she stands with Ethan, but she never asks him. I get that. What girl wants to ask her boss and boyfriend where "this" is going? But Ethan is so oblivious to a woman and her needs and fears. Tori doesn't want to screw up a good thing, but she's afraid she's just temporary. The confrontation at the birthday party was a long time in coming. Things are said, and not said, and done, and not done, that change the family dynamic. Will Tori and Ethan survive as a couple? Will the ranch survive financially? And what about Kat's baby? Enjoy the read ..

I loved this story so much! Every time I read a story by Lex Martin, I want to climb into the book and live there. Lex consistently creates dynamic, strong characters with an equally engaging storyline. I enjoyed all of these characters (please tell me Logan gets a book) and also enjoyed getting more Brady, Izzy and Kat. This book has it all and was a pleasure to read! 1 like
