There are two separate parts that are not resolved into a single story by the end of this book.
This is an imaginative and well written book. It is set in a unique world with all kinds of individual species. This book will appeal to people who enjoy sci-fi , scheming and war. My problem with it was that I really never became invested in any of the characters. The prologue was way too long and difficult to get through. Although I liked Lord of the Rings and this story could compare to that, I like the characters in LOTR and I just didn’t in this. Also, I know this is an ARC, the transitions between scenes were non-existent. That made it confusing to follow the story. One minute you’d be involved with a character from one scene and the next sentence was a totally different scene unrelated to the previous scene. Being confused made it much harder to read the book. I think this is a great story but the characters need to be more likable if I’m to care about what happens to them. Please clearly delineate the scenes so they don’t all run together; it will make it a much more enjoyable book. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
