I’m a Marliss Melton fan and this short story does not disappoint in any way. Even though it has been awhile since I’ve read some of the books in this series, I was able to jump right into the story and not feel lost with the characters or referenced events. Reclaimed is loaded with action and suspense. I loved the ‘mature romance’ aspect of the story as well, giving us all hope that passion is still relevant as we age and second chances can be had. I would recommend this book. Rating: 4 Heat Rating: Mild Reviewed by: Karen C Review Courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

'RECLAIMED' proves that love can be sweeter the second time around. It also spells out in well-crafted detail exactly what happens between Connor and Karen Donovan after the end of Ms.Melton's previous self-published offering, the novella LONG GONE. After 30 years of marriage, Karen and Connor Donovan have gone their separate ways, unable to repair the damage done by his emotional distance and her bitter betrayal. But a dance at their son's wedding hints that the passion they once shared may still be burning after all. Soon after, an old nemesis returns to commit a vicious crime that could end all possibility of a reconciliation. The daring rescue that follows, one would think, would be the natural 'happy ever after' ending. But Ms. Melton offers yet another twist that makes the story's conclusion even more emotionally satisfying. I love both of these main characters, partly because, like me, they are both hovering near the half-century mark age-wise, and yet their feelings are as intense as any fictional couple half their age. Although not strictly necessary, I still highly recommend reading LONG GONE prior to reading RECLAIMED, as it provides a good deal of background that helps flesh out the characters, both good and evil.
