“Maybe my sister got it right this time ... maybe I should have ditched my plan.”

Eleven-year-old Chad Hatcher was only trying to get proof. No one would believe him without it. He’d spotted some men hauling suspicious-looking rocks off a reef near his house in the Florida Keys, and he suspected that the shiny bits of metal embedded in the rocks were pieces of treasure from an ancient shipwreck site. It couldn’t be a legal dive site; not that close to a protected reef.

Chad concocts a simple plan to stop the looters before they destroy the reef. But when things suddenly go wrong, Chad and his sister must scramble for their lives through the backwaters of Sugarloaf Key––with no one to turn to but each other.

Red, Right, Return is a wonderful edge of your seat page turning adventure for kids and even adults. My granddaughter is eight, we read it together, and she loved it. Actually, I was shocked that she would enjoy this type of book, but she enjoyed it very much. I think all kids around the age of eight through maybe fourteen would love this book filled with non-stop adventure, suspense and mystery. I a grandmother enjoyed it myself, so if you have a younger child that may struggle with some words you will definitely enjoy reading this book with them. For a first time author I think June did a wonderful job keeping her audience captivated with the thrills, chills and adventures in her book. I highly recommend this to adults and children alike. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the author for an honest un-biased opinion. I did not receive any compensation for my review.

The New Children's Classic This is the grand book that middle schoolers dream of, and it is literature that deserves pride of place on the bookshelves. It was so thrilling and reminded me of so many of the fellow greats: Treasure Island, (Chad with the spirit of Jim Hawkins, and pirates lurking on the horizon); Charles Dickens' adventures of a hero or heroine coming up against the odds; The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew; and Huckleberry Finn- in a really exciting way this last one: I loved that this story was told entirely from Chad's perspective, and in his voice! His word choice, the flow of his sentences, the speed of his thoughts, the way he carries himself, what he looks for, how he is brave, all combine to introduce an amazing narrator to American literature. He is an unforgettable character, as too, (though he might not admit it), is his bold and quick-thinking sister Georgene. The grace which June Keating Sherwin brings to her characters, she brings to the novel's wondrous sense of place and soaring suspense- this sterling tale felt like a great plunge into saltwater. Young readers will cherish Red, Right, Return's spirit of adventure for all time.

First time author June Keating Sherwin scores big with this edge of your seat adventure. This tale of siblings searching for the treasure hunters not the treasure will have you routing for the brother and sister team who get into one scuffle after the next.

Bought the e-nook version for me and then send hard copies to my grandchildren. What fun it is to have lively discussions about Chad and his treasure hunt with my grand kids. No vampires, no hockus pockus, just pure sit at the edge of your seat, page turning adventure. Target audience would be 8 to 13 years old, with many events ripe for discussions.

Several of my 6th grade students read this book and loved it. Beautiful Florida Keys imagery and just the right amount of suspense. Nine- to twelve-year olds should find the stolen treasure storyline very engaging; it will definitely hold their attention.

The subject of treasure always gets me hooked. Bad guys and wicked currents in the Florida Keys. A story after my own heart. Xo
