About the Author

Author Amy Miles has always been a bit of a dreamer. Growing up as an only child, and a military brat to boot, she spent countless hours escaping into the pages of a book, only to spend the following days creating a new idea of how to twist up the story to make it unique. Since becoming a mother, Amy has slowly nourished her love of the written word while snatching writing time in the midst of soiled diapers, tumbling over legos and peering around mounds of laundry and dishes that never seem to go away. Once her only son started school, Amy was free to let her fingers dive into dark mythology, tales of betrayal and love, and explore human nature in its rawest form. Her love of seeing the world from a different angle bloomed. Author Amy Miles is the author of several novels, including her popular young adult immortal books, The Arotas Series, which are an Amazon and iBooks bestselling series. Unwilling to be defined by any one genre, she proceeded to flip over to a science fiction/fantasy based idea with her Rising Trilogy. She then explored the depths of her own faith with In Your Embrace and discovered her darker side with the first installment Wither, a zombie thriller. Want to know what Amy will be working on next? I loved and hated this last book. It was so emotional, I don't know the last time I have cried so much and cried such deep gut wrenching  tears. Right from the start I am horrified by what is happening to all of the characters I love, I could not believe what Malachi did to both Rose and Sadie. The heartbreak I could feel from Gabriel because of having to leave her through the authors words is heartwrenching. Then Gabriel meets Katia, the only thing I found interesting about this part is that Seneh is living in this shack with the human girl and she is one of many children Lucian created out of pain and lust. The things I had to read about in regards to where Lucian was holding  Roseline and the things she had to endure at this mans hands was horrific, that is why this is not your traditional romantic vampire story. It is filled with many detailed scenes of what was done to the two monk friends of Gabriel's by the hands of Lucian's right hand man Malachi. Then later to read what the poison was doing to Rose's body made me so sad, I was so afraid she would be turned into  this beast and never be herself again. What Rose did to Malachi was gross and could be very disturbing to certain people to read. The love Fane has for Rose is neverending and I was so happy that he found her even though he was devastated by what she had become. I was thrilled to death when Gabriel finally was reunited with his friends and anxious to be reunited with his love Rose. When  he had to see what Lucian did to her, I was bawling so hard because his heart was shattered. It all clicked to me then, what he could  do to save her and let's just say the reunion between the group of friends and her was beautiful. Once again I cried my eyes out when  Rose was talking to Fane and with her touches making him understand that just because she loved Gabriel didn't mean see didn't love him just in a different way. I loved reading about Sadie and Nicolae and there on again off again romance. When the battle begins  I was on the edge of my seat scared to death of who was going to die in this battle and what was Lucian going to do. There were many interesting creatures involved in this battle and it was neat how Amy's words made me feel like I could see this  terrible battle between good and evil right before my eyes. I swear my heart stopped beating for like 2 seconds when something happens during this terrible battle that literally made me cry so hard that I couldn't catch my breath because sobbing so hard. Then finally it seems like things are finally going our way and what I had wanted all along could at least happen now but then boom, there he was Lucian and he had caught Gabriel off guard and was hurting him, I felt sick in my stomach at this point. I was amazed at what  that special sword of Gabriel's could do to Lucian but unfortunately happiness occurred to soon and just as they were professing their  love to each other and that their lives would be bonded to each other forever the worst thing possible happened and I have to say for  the rest of that chapter, the next chapter, and through the Epilogue I could not stop bawling, I read the rest of this book through tear filled eyes that barely could focus as my body shook because of how hard I was crying. Wow this book encited many emotions in me and if I didn't know that Amy had a follow up book to further this story I would have been furious and so sad at how the book ended. All I want to say to end this review is make sure you read the Epilogue at the end of this book because it caused my tears to stop rolling down my cheek and it allowed for hope to seep into my heart and brain. Loved this series.
