Four years after her wicked husband¿s death, Lisa Mallory thought she had her life back in order. That is, until her precious eight-year old son, Jamie, is kidnapped and isn¿t returned after the ransom drop and someone shoots Lisa as she tries to leave the drop off point. Lisa, while, recovering from emotional and physical wounds, becomes desperate and turns to her only and last option, her brother¿s best friend, Ethan Caine. Ethan¿s shady past becomes essential in finding Jamie and Lisa finds herself agreeing to a long-shot plan of rescue that will take them to the Quintana Roo jungle and face to face with the demons of her past. Although Ethan has convinced himself he isn¿t worthy of anything pure in his life, he finds himself drawn to the quiet yet strong woman he has promised to help. Together they find the strength to rescue her son and each other from unhappy lives. Judith Rochelle has crafted an intense romance while intertwining the elements of intrigue and a high octane game of cat-and-mouse. Honestly, I sat down to read only a few pages and ended up reading the entire book in one sitting. What a ride!
