I think I've tried to read this book 3 times already and have yet to be able to finish it.The biggest issue I have with this is the characters. The main guy is a blatant Gary Stu. And his love interest...don't even get me started on her. It's just...ridiculous. Her fiance died a few days ago and yet already she's attracted to Mr. Stu (the feeling is mutual, even though she's dirty, hasn't slept/bathed in days and looks like a general wreck). The place is swarming with zombies and yet her first instinct when rescued is to take a bath BY HERSELF in a RIVER. And when Mr. Stu inevitably has to save her butt from the zombie, she's worried about him seeing her in her underwear. Some of the details might be off since I haven't picked this book up in a while, but the general gist should be spot on.

I thought it was all right, Personally i thought it kind of copyed Brian Kheen's 'Rising' in the same basis as Jim a construction worker, The story line was good, just everything kind of came together to openly.

I got Reign around three days ago and I have about only fifty pages left and the only downfall to this book is it isn't long enough. I cant put it down. I cant wait for the next installment. I love how Len doesn't drag scenes out. He gets to the point, but you really understand the situation. You will find that towards the end of the book you almost feel sorry for the dead. You will find that this book is more than just horror. It has romance, action, and drama. It is a must read for any Zombie nut or for that matter any fan of the horror genre. I still cant believe this is his first book. I cant wait to see where is writing career goes. I must say my favorite zombie book had been WET WORK, but now I got a new favorite. Len cant wait for the sequel.

Being the real Jim Workman, I have to say that the writer did a great job capturing my stellar personality and god-like physique!! Although, they were a little light on my superyer intuhllect. Buy this book... Buy 5!!!

I've been a fan of the zombie-genre since as long as I can remember. My father has bought be all sorts of joke gifts ranging from the first zombie movie ever made to Max Brook's ultimate survival guide. However Len Barnhart's 'Reign of the Dead' has became my new favorite. This book was incrediable and nothing like you would expect. Drawing from different theories he leaves it up to you to make your own decision. Not only are the dead walking but the living are at war and through-out all of this he is able to make you fall in love with his personable characters. It'll make you squirm, cry, and laugh all at the same time. Read it!

Aching for more after watching the dawn of the dead remake I decided to try this book. Read the whole thing over a weekend and loved every minute. I could not put the thing down. One of the best books I have read in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed so much I immediately order Apocalypse End the sequel.

I bought this book and it is a great fun book to read. It is too bad the author didn't spend more time proof reading his drafts or it would have been so much the better for it.

It kept me interested from beginning to end. The dead won't stay dead and they're after the living. In a dying world turned upside down, it's hard not to put yourself in the place of the key characters.
