Everything Tristan, Ushna, and Brian have fought for comes down to the moment they face Inanna and Marduk. Before then, Ushna must embrace his destiny and be transformed by Tiamat. But he returns with a fractured mind and will need the help of the new firebird or he'll be lost to the insanity of a primordial God. If he's lost, so is the balance Brian and Tristan sorely need.
Tristan has vowed to care for his ex-Flame, Theo Sullivan, who is doomed to forget more and more with each use of his new ability. When not dealing with his stubborn ex, Tristan must free the warriors stolen by the government and devise a trap for Inanna.
And that's only the start of the challenges, and everything that can still go wrong.

I found Ms. Ander quite by accident, through a chain of other authors. While I have adored each author that led me to her, I've never been captured so completely as I was by her works. I began with Alpha Trine and spent nearly a hundred dollars on everything else I could get my hands on. I was restless, cranky, unfocused, and had no appetite from the time I began one series to the time I finished what there was of it. Then there was that sense of having accomplished something, that amazing relief. I will anxiously watch for every new book and probably sacrifice my next meal to purchase it. The characters are captivating, the stories enthralling, and the action non-stop. I can't wait to see what she ensnares me with next.
The time has come to prove the prophecy correct....but there's so many twists and surprises for the cast of characters I've been to love (or in cases like Daniel, hate) add if they were real people. Nathan and the betrayal you see in the very beginning almost killed me. Theo is turning to a very likeable guy between true remorse over his past, despite the fact that Inanna made him a victim as well, and as his true Flame Bond with Stan kicks in. Ushna becoming the Heart of Tiamet I expected but the fact that it meant he was connected more to her consort/ father of all the Gods was a plot twist I didn't see coming, nor the fact he could then communicate with the serpentesque guardians of the Sanctuary telepathically. Ace, Juan, Jonas, Gregori..... I hope we see books of their future and the results of their traveling. Hopefully the circle will expand and Gregori's magic will be balanced. The battle was as epic as I could've hoped and even there twists and surprises abounded. Especially after Daniel abducted Justus and Brian (the pup not the dragon) and Stan must rescue them with the help of Theo and the Ophidian assassin -who's identity really floored me. Tristan's decree after the battle was true, fair and just. I'm not sure I wouldn't have wanted some retribution but he refrained. Then to reveal themselves to the human world and take on the POTUS? Lots of cojones on their part. The book ended and most of the threads are all tied up......except the ones for Gregori with his circle and what comes next for the Princes Ramsey and Brian, the future hero Atar, and of course our heroes. But those are futures for another time, perhaps another series.
*I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book* The end of the war between the chosen triad (Tristan, Ushna, and Brian) and their war against the evil gods and their supernatural slaves. This is a long and intense book. So many revealing things for secondary characters. Like the truth of Theo's true Twin Flame. Some new romances that may possibly lead into a spinoff stand alone stories in the future. I am excited for the Magi book that is too come and am curious how it will turn out. This had a satisfying end that tied up most of the story. *I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book*
