About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Eve Vaughn has always enjoyed creating characters and stories from an early age. As a child she was always getting into mischief, so when she lost her television privileges (which was often), writing was her outlet. Her stories have gotten quite a bit spicier since then! When she’s not writing or spending time with her family, Eve is reading, baking, traveling or kicking butt in 80’s trivia. She loves hearing from her readers. She can be contacted through her website at: www.evevaughn.com.

Wow! Stockholm Syndrome at it's finest. I think Dominic got off way too easy.

I'm an avid Eve Vaughn reader and have always at least LIKED the books she's written (The Blood Brothers series I absolutely loved). But this book I struggled hard to read because it was straight emotional abuse with a sprinkle of sexual assault. SPOILER ALERT! The protagonist Krystina, who seems like a highly educated free spirit, allows Dominique (the standard rich-boy-with-a-PTSD-inducing-past) treat her like street garbage. From the second he meets her, to like, the second-to-last chapter, he verbally terrorizes her, embarrasses her in front of everyone several times, and then goes as far as to sexually assault her at least TWICE. And all Krystina has to say is: man, I hate him so much but my body can't deny him. I can't get with it. It was too easy to make these things water under the bridge when he suddenly starts going to therapy for his trauma. I'm glad he did, but I think Sister-girl needs therapy too, for her codependent behavior.
