Remembering Lela & Charlie takes readers on a journey back to simpler times in 20th century rural Mississippi before microwave ovens and the internet, when country doctors made house calls, and a plate of home-baked biscuits awaited any hungry visitor. Mrs. Gates' evocative narrative from the life and times of her parents, Lela & Charlie Myrick, reveals both difficult periods and times of great joy and reminds us of what's most important-family and community.
