Virginia Smith in her new book, “Renovating the Richardsons” Book Two in the Tales from the Goose Creek B&B series published by Harvest House Publishers continues the renovation of the Goose Creek B&B. From the Back Cover: Those cranky creekers are at it again Things are finally starting to fall into a steady rhythm in the small town of Goose Creek, Kentucky. Millie Richardson is hard at work renovating a drafty Victorian house into a B&B. Her husband, Al, is busy writing checks for the renovations. And the new vet, Susan, has finally found acceptance from the town–not to mention a hunky new boyfriend, Justin. But things never stay quiet for long in Goose Creek. The inner-county softball game is coming up, and Millie volunteers Al as team manager. But the softball team is a disaster. If they’re not going to embarrass themselves in front of the whole of Franklin County, Al needs Justin to play. But Justin lives just outside the city limits, and the rules say that players must live in town. As if that weren’t enough to keep the town gossips busy, a massage therapist has come to town and opened up shop. Imagine–a massage parlor!–in Goose Creek! No decent Creeker will stand for it. One thing’s for sure: there’s never a dull moment in Goose Creek. Get ready to gossip there is a new business opening in Goose Creek and it is a massage parlor. And if that is not enough to get everyone up in arms there is also the matter of the softball team. They really aren’t any good. Should they play and embarrass themselves not only in front of the town but the whole county? Without a doubt Goose Creek is a very pleasant place. Ms. Smith has populated Goose Creek with some of the best supporting characters you just want to hang out with these individuals and get to know them more. And then there is Al and Millie. This couple is definitely unique. They may have their relationship issues but they hold the story together and I, for one, am glad to spend my time with them. Ms. Smith has given us another really fun story. I enjoyed this book a lot and am looking forward to the next book in this series from this highly talented author.
