This music is so incredibly powerful. It has the ability to evoke so many emotions the music is a story in itself. The movie was awesome (u should read the book too) but the movie would not have been near as good without clint masnell and the kronos quartet's contribution to the soundtrack. I have heard these songs over and over and still everytime I hear them I tense up. I feel like such a drama queen saying that... I just feel really strongly about the music. U should definetly check it out

From the opening note of the movie/soundtrack you can tell that you'll get your money's worth from at least the Kronos Quartet. Clint Mansell has put together a most striking score, and the soundtrack as a stand alone is a chilling reminder of the film. The odd combination of a string quartet and techno beats works sickeningly well here. Without having seen the movie the power of this score can't be explained. The movie has some great moments where nothing is said, but the music says more than words ever could. The madness and tragedy grow as the album progresses. The Summer Overture alone is enough to buy this album, but thankfully there are many more wonderful tracks after it.

The soundtrack for Requiem For a Dream is as gripping as the film. From start to end the highs and lows are experienced with as much feeling as the movie itself.I Love it!!!

This soundtrack is one of the greatest i've ever heard. The movie rocks too, but the music just added an entire depth to it

At the end of this movie I left alone in the theater watching credits. One of the main reasons, actually, the ONLY reason was that apsolutely astoinishing soundtrack!! To be honest, never heard of Kronos quartet, but C. Mansell was more than familiar to me. Maybe, only Blixa Bargeld /Einstuerzenede Neubauten/ could make a score on the Clint`s level, who knows?

I agree with the others who have written reviews before me, this is a spectacular album, definatly worth your money. It's so haunting, and mournful, words don't describe. Worth ten stars on this scale, I highly recommend it.
