Rescuing Emily by Susan Stoker

Renting out the apartment over his garage shouldn't be a life-changing decision, but when Delta soldier Cormac "Fletch" Fletcher meets Emily Grant, he feels an instant connection. He can't stand the thought of Emily and her young daughter living anywhere unsafe. Offering cheap rent is a small price to pay for their safety...and Fletch's peace of mind.

Being a single mother is difficult at best, but renting the extremely affordable space from Fletch makes Emily's life a lot easier...until it doesn't. Suddenly all the money she's saving thanks to Fletch's generosity is going into the hands of a blackmailer. And what little food Emily can afford goes to her daughter Annie, so the girl doesn't go to bed hungry...leaving Emily weaker and weaker.

When miscommunication has Emily assuming Fletch is in on the blackmail, he not only has to gain her trust, but also deal with a man holding a grudge against Fletch and his entire Delta Force team. A task made more difficult when the dangerous man gets his hands on Emily and Annie...

** Rescuing Emily is the 2nd book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

I have to admit, as of late, I have not been very happy with Susan's books. I've kept buying because I loved the first series and kept hoping for her to get back to it.. she definitely has. I really enjoyed this one.

I really liked this book! Cormac (aka Fletch) is just the right hero mix of alpha steaminess and Emily is a fairly strong-and stubborn-heroine. Annie..I simply loved her character! She is one precocious 6 year old with enough feistiness to give Emily gray hair..and I foresee a porch full of men and weapons lined up to meet her future dates... I appreciate that Emily and Fletch didn't fall into bed right away. Stoker spent some quality time trying to build a solid foundation for this couple and I think she did a smashing job! Rescuing Emily had a good balance of action and strategy, and just enough sexiness to keep me satisfied!

*ARC* Ahhh Just like her other series, this was the best. Loved it. Emily was looking for a new place to live were it is safer for her and her daughter Annie, Fletch is renting out the apartment above his garage which is were the story begins. A misunderstanding makes both of them turning away from each other but when things start to go bad Fletch steps up not only because he feels responsible but because he loves her and will do anything to protect those he loves. Annie was a fantastic kid, not whinny but brave and smart for her age and even if she liked to play with boy toys she still had those tough delta men eating out of her palm. Great story I think this was my favorite so far can't wait to read more of these delta men.

Rescuing Emily in book #2 in Susan Stoker's Delta Heroes series. This series is about an elite group of soldiers called the Delta Force. They are the best of the best and are called upon when they need situation resolved quietly and quickly. These guys are pure alpha males and will stop at nothing to protect their country, military family and the ones they love. Emily Grant is needing a new place for her and her six-year-old daughter Annie to live after he current landlord started making inappropriate comments about her daughter. Being a single mom, money is tight and finding a place that is close to work and her daughter's school is not always easy or cheap. When she sees an ad for a small one bedroom apartment that is within her budget she makes the decides to go and check things out. What she didn't expect to find was that her new landlord is a sexy soldier who has no problem with her having a child. The apartment is a dream come true, it is small but clean and appears to be in a safe area and her new landlord is great with her daughter. Now if only she could get her mind off the sexy man who has taken over her thoughts and dreams. Cormac "Fletch" Fletcher looking for a tenant to rent the small apartment above his garage. Since he gone often with his job with the Delta Force he would like to have someone else on the property to look over things while he is gone. Delta Force soldiers are required to keep everyone in the dark about the specialized crew he is part of but he knows he still has enemies out there they would not hesitate to cause problems if they ever identified who he was. When Emily shows up to inquire about the apartment he feels an immediate attraction to her but there is also something hiding in her eyes that makes him want to pull her close and protect her. When he discovers she has a daughter who has been tormented by others he makes an instant decision to rent them the apartment. Little did he know this decision would change his whole future. I loved watching Fletch and Annie's relationship grown. He was so patient and understanding with the little girl, never losing his cool when she asked him a million questions. You can see the instant love these two have for each other and how protective Fletch feels towards the child. When a misunderstanding causes him and Emily to pull away from each other before even getting a chance to see how their mutual attraction would play out you feel this heartache and pain each go through. Luckily these two are able to work things out and we get to see how these three grow together into a close unit. When danger threatens Emily and Annie's life, Fletch knows it is up to him and his elite team to save these two and make them part of the family he never knew he wanted. This book was absolutely amazing, I loved it so much. While the heat level was very mild compared to most of the books I read, I have to say the story is so well written that you don't miss it at all. I would highly recommend this book to others and look forward to reading the next book in the series as well. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

his is the second book in the series. This one pulled me in as much as the first one did. I liked seeing the members of the squad again. I was looking forward to Fletch's story because we were teased with tidbits in Rescuing Rayne. Annie, Emily's little girl is a precious gem. She brought so much to this book and her interactions with Fletch were priceless. Things are going pretty well for Fletch and Emily, but soon miscommunication causes a rift. Seeing Emily struggling when she didn't need to was so hard to read through. Of course the way Fletch responded shows you his true charter. Along with the romance and passion there is suspense that will just draw you right in. I can't wait for more from this series.

This is another five star read for this amazing author. Susan Stoker NEVER disappoints! This is Cormac "Fletch" Fletcher, Emily Grant and her daughter Annie's story. The story would have been fantastic with just Fletch and Emily but add in the amazing Annie and the story's now extraordinary. This little girl is so precious! She's smarter than the average six-year-old and inquisitive with a personality that never quits! The story has the perfect amount of mystery, revenge, Delta Force hotties, sexual angst and all-around great friends and family. Perfect! I can't wait to read more from this fabulous author. Received a copy via RockStarLit in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.

Protective love, humour and a pint-sized charmer! I’m a big fan of this author and each book is an automatic must read. I know there will be take-charge military men, vulnerable but strong heroines and a story I can sink my teeth into. This story ticked all those boxes while adding a pint-sized charmer to quietly steal my heart… “If you laugh at my first name, I’ll have to hurt you.” That is what you get when you have a woman who faces the world, even a tough soldier like Fletch, head on with humour and self-confidence. Emily is a mother, soul bread-winner and a force to be reckoned with when it comes to protecting her small family. Fletch recognizes in Emily, and the adorable Annie, what he’d been unconsciously looking for – family. I love how protective Fletch, and his military brothers and their families, are of the new women in his life. Emily isn’t a pushover, he is going to have to work hard to gain her trust and hers and her daughter’s affection, but the ride is sweet despite all the bumps. Misunderstandings and danger drive this story and provide a tension broken up by gentle humour and a little girl with a heart and intelligence that is much bigger than her tiny size. Fletch and Emily set an entertaining stage with Annie stealing the show. Another story to add to my “pick me up when…” shelf! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cormac Fletcher, aka Fletch, is Delta Force, but that's not all he is. He's also a...wait, what? A landlord? Fletch has an apartment available for rent, but he also has particular requirements as to who he'll accept, plus he'd like the tenant to keep an eye on his house, gather his mail, etc. when he's away on a mission, well okay, they'll just know he's gone. Not to mention, whoever he chooses must pass his background check, which will be done by none other than Tex. Yes! That man knows everyone. LOL When he meets his next applicant, there's just something about her... Emily Grant, a single mom and PX employee, is desperate. Her current living situation isn't safe and she needs to get her and her precious daughter, Annie, a new place to live. She applies for Fletch's apartment, not believing she'll be able to afford it, but when he shockingly offers her the place, much cheaper than she thought possible, she accepts, unable to believe her luck or contain her relief. As time passes, Fletch not only starts falling for Emily, but for Annie as well. He can see a future with them and he wants it more than anything. But will he delay too long in letting her know that? Emily also feels the connection between her and Fletch and Annie adores him, yet maybe things aren't as they seem with him. Someone has decided the perfect way to get revenge on Fletch is through Emily and Annie and that someone carefully crafts a plan that has Emily doubting everything she thought she knew about Fletch, things that can easily be misconstrued when doubts are already in place. What happens when Emily believes the worst of Fletch? What will Fletch do when he perceives Emily's actions a certain way and how they impact not only her, but Annie as well? Will they settle this misunderstanding before it's too late? Will Fletch be able to rescue his new family in time? Can Fletch, Emily, and Annie have their HEA? Could Annie be any cuter? Okay, that last one is a rhetorical question because no, she could not be. She has these tough Delta Force men wrapped around her little finger. One-click now to read this wonderful book by one of my favorite writers. You will fall in love with this couple and the undeniably adorable Annie. Oh and as is my response anytime this book, this character, is mentioned, may I just say...Fletch!!! I have been awaiting his book since meeting his Delta team in Protecting the Future, book eight in the SEAL of Protection series. Please keep in mind, I do recommend reading Rescuing Rayne, book one in this series, first as previous characters are mentioned and honestly, because it's a great book. I've never been disappointed in anything by this author and eagerly await the next one. Is it out yet? No? Darn it, back to my time machine plans...this waiting is torture.

I love all of Susan's books and this one is no exception. Fletch is Delta Force and a true alpha. He senses that Emily, a single mom, really needs the garage apartment that he has for rent and also that she could use a break in the rent. He makes a deal with her on the reduced rent in exchange for her looking out for his place when he's out of town. He's also attracted to her but is reluctant to make a move. Even so, he can't help but fall in love with her daughter right away. Emily is very independent but is grateful to Fletch for renting her the apartment and being nice to her daughter. She is also attracted to him but is not sure how he feels about her. That is until there is a big misunderstanding and gross miscommunication. Fletch and Emily get everything straightened out and then she and her daughter are kidnapped. Fletch and his team have to find them before it's too late. I (Shortline) received an ARC for an honest review.

Absolutely fantastic second book in the Delta Force Series by Susan Stoker. Delta Force operator Fletch has an apartment for rent, Annie and daughter Emily are in need of a safer place to live. Everything is going along nicely, then boom, enter the nasty bad guy. I think I hate him most of all of Stoker's bad guys. Emily and her intelligence will have your heart!

5 Stars!!! I was given this book in turn for an honest review When Fletch rented out his apartment he never for one moment expected his tenants to capture him, heart and soul. Emily and her daughter needed a safe place to live; Fletch’s apartment was a dream come true. Will miss communications tear them apart before they have a true chance to get to know each other? I am absolutely loving the Delta Force Heroes series from Susan Stoker; it’s proving to be a fantastic military series with the right about of mystery, suspense and romance that keeps you captivated from start to finish with a few hidden surprises along the way and always a happy ending that the couple deserve. Fletch is strong, loyal, dependable, friendly and has a great sense of humour. The relationship he shared with Annie was beautiful. He was not only the perfect role model for Annie he was also the sweetest and strongest male influence any child could ask for. Emily has to be one of the most inspiring single mothers I have ever read. To have gone through life as a single Mum with no family to call upon and no father for her daughter in sight, it’s a surprise the woman was still standing. She was strong, determined and her daughter came first above anything else. She was an inspiring and wonderful mother to Annie. It was clear from the beginning that Fletch and Annie had a special bond and he understood the little girl, he also saw she was a bright and clever individual. The connection that Emily and Fletch had was instant and you could feel and see that they were destined to be together. Susan Stoker however did a great job of having you doubt they would find their happy ever after by captivating you so deeply into their story. If you love military romances; the Delta Force Heroes series by Susan Stoker is for you!

Wow and I thought I was in love Ghost and Rayne's story than I got to meet Fletch, Emily and Annie and just fell even more in love with them. Although the beginning of the story pissed me off I know it had to happen that way for the rest of the story to pan out. Lose your self in this awesome read by a wonderful author. Can't wait to read the stories for the rest of the guys. I must say I love the authors' Seal series but I'm even more in love with the Delta guys. Might be cause I'm an Army vet and love to see my guys getting good stories too.

Rescuing Emily is about Fletch, a member of the Delta team and Emily, a very strong independent mom. Her daughter Annie is gifted and so much fun. She's probably my favorite character of the book. Fletch rents his apartment to Emily hoping to help her out but there's so much chemistry between them. After a big misunderstanding is cleared, they finally get to explore their chemistry. This book had so many dimensions. It made me sad, angry, frustrated, laugh...It had it all! I loved to see Fletch, Emily and Annie's relationship develop. I enjoyed seeing more of the Delta team and some of my favorite characters from Susan's other series. A must read. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Another excellent one! I loved this book, great characters. Annie, Emily and Fletcher the best and their story was great. The adult love was good, but I really enjoyed six year old Annie. I can't wait to read more by this author. I've read everything that has been published so far twice and will probably reread then again. Please write faster. mjw

4.5 stars! Rescuing Emily is another story by Susan Stoker that pulls you in and doesn't let go. I won't rewrite the synopsis because I think you probably already read that before reading the reviews! I loved the interactions with Fletch, Emily, and her daughter Annie. Annie truly adds a special element to the story. I love Fletch and his team! Who doesn't love hot alpha Delta Force men? While I loved the story there were a few minor points that deducted half a star in my rating. I know authors have literary license to change reality in their worlds and most of the time I can gloss over those few points. I think my background knowledge of some of these subjects (single mom, have a child with a military dad, kindergarten teacher) caused a couple of these points to not work for me. Annie is a very intelligent child in the first grade; however, her speech is not consistent with her intelligence level. Emily is a strong heroine but is easily duped by the villain in the story. I also disagreed with Emily’s thoughts about child support especially when you are struggling to feed your child and provide her with a safe environment. Overall, it was a beautiful book about love, friendship, and parenting. While this book can be read on its own, I would highly suggest that you read Rescuing Rayne. There are also characters mentioned in the book from the Protecting series and Justice series. Reading all of these books just adds to the depth of the story. Highly recommend! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

I love reading a new series where characters you've loved in other books make sneaky appearances! Emily is looking for a safer place to live to raise her daughter and finds it in Fletch's garage apartment. For Fletch, it's the feeling of actually helping someone that he can tell really needs a helping hand. As he gets to know Emily and her daughter, Annie, he's of course falling for them both! As things are going good for them, an enemy of the guys decides to put his plan into action to make the Delta's pay for their actions by using Emily and Annie. It's the guys to the rescue with a little outside help! I loved the romance of Fletch and Emily, but I can't wait to see if Annie gets a story of her own. She's going to be an amazing woman with Fletch and Emily as parents with the guys all influencing her! My favorite line in the book...."and the rest of the afternoon was spent with men trained to be lethal killers, playing hide and go see with a six-year-old."
