What a great book 2. It is the story of Kell and how he meets Gwen. It starts out with a bang ie goblins and the Rycroft force fighting each other and just gets better from there. There were a few fight scenes, and a few funny scenes too. Just a fun read. Plus Gwen is a hoot and I found her powers to be hysterical. Give the cool powers (pun intended) to the non-soldier. Liked the first book and thought this was just as good. The right mix of funny , fighting, and a few sexy steamy scenes that are not nasty in my opinion. I received a free copy and I say pick up the first book and then enjoy the Rycroft group with this one. Plus there was a touch of mystery about the stones that is interesting and I cannot wait to see what happens with them and the others in the next book.

3.5 stars. Resilient is the second book in the Rycroft Group series. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone though it is open-ended for the next book. There is violence and sex so 18+. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author managed to describe the main characters and the setting well. The storyline is average but overall it has some twists and turns that make it a good read. I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series. I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.

I have been anxiously waiting for the next book of the Rycroft Group since finishing the first one, and I am so grateful to finally get my hands on the second book. Kell was the strong silent type the first time around and that really doesn't change much in this book. The big difference is now we get to see some of what makes him the strong silent type. Gwen is feisty and fiercely independent: that's not always an asset in the situations she now finds herself in. I loved the chemistry between these two. The push/pull dynamic as they tried to resist their attraction led to some wonderfully comedic scenes. That, and trying to fit this imminently practical loner into the arcane world the Rycroft Group deals with on a regular basis also resulted some truly slapstick moments. Every time we learn a little bit about their world, I want to know even more. My fingers are already twitching to get a hold of book three. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
