Overview

Resisting the Bad Boy by Violet Duke, Meredith Mitchell

Abby Bartlett is the quintessential nice girl. Between teaching, volunteering, completing her PhD, and helping her best friend raise his daughter, Abby never gets the chance to be anything but nice. That is, until the all-wrong-for-her man she's only ever known from afar starts daring her to simply take that chance for herself. His sage advice? Try something wild and fast.

Preferably him.

An unbridled, hotshot attorney with a not-so-little black book, Connor Sullivan has earned himself quite the bad boy reputation. But in his defense, he's a very conscientious one. He knows far too well that sometimes in life, love isn't enough . . . or worse, not even a factor at all. To avoid that misery—and repel the drama—Connor always makes his one and only rule crystal clear right from the start. Absolutely nothing more than a month.

Turns out, a whole lot can happen in one month.

Great Book! Favorite part is the steamy scenes... don't want to spoil it for every one

Good book, easy read, it was slightly more of a smut book than I was wanting, yet it was a good story line. 1 of 3 in the series. I may now have to read the rest of the series to find out what happens!

I LIKE THIS BOOK, BUT I HAD ALREADY READ THIS BOOK, THIS ONE IS A SHORT VERSION AND IT LEAVES A LOT OF THINGS OUT.

I really liked this book. Lots of funny stuff, and oh my...Connor. LOVED him! I actually thought all of the characters were well written, and Abby is just fantastic and such a sweetheart. The story pulls you in-I read it straight through in one sitting-and flows nicely. There were a couple of grammar/editing errors, but not really noticeable (I'm just one of those readers who always picks up on those, no matter what). I knew going into it that it was a serial, so the cliffhanger at the end didn't bug me so much...but wow, it's kind of a doozie. Thankfully I already have the whole series so I was able to just start the next book immediately. I can't wait to find out where it goes...

I loved this book! The writing was wonderful and the story was real and believable. Conner is a bad boy who doesn't do relationships and Abby is funny and sexy and sure of herself. They meet, again, and they have instant chemistry. The dialog is so great that you laugh out loud and you really connect with the characters. It's not the same old story of boy meets girl, they fall in love, he messes it up then begs her to come back and HEA. Nope. But it's a must read!

This book was great and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. And the author herself is an amazing person, who I am happy to support.

There is much to enjoy about the book that I'm sure I'll forget something. Duke has a way of developing fun characters whose speaking generally feels true-to-life and whom I can become attached to when falling into her series. She does all of this with flawless formatting, grammar, etc. and the combination makes for a fast, easy reading experience. The story itself left me wanting more an I'm relieved that there is in fact, more as I am off to check it out! Personally, I enjoy the drama of it all and I cannot help but appreciate the not-so-subtle reminder of the way one illness can destroy so many lives. Brilliant, Ms. Duke! Thank you.

This booj may havebeen okay, but itispart of series, all the books are a little over100 pages. There ate only threeif them. Why not consolidate into one book? Each book is $3.99. But the first, it is free. $8.00 isalotof money for about a 300 page cliff hanger with a very unsatisfactory ending. In case the is a book four, I guess. The editing for this book was okay. Once again, a parent dies. Once again another love is easy to find.this book is cheesy, sappyl sentimental drivel. The ending sucked lemons. The over view almost seemes to be refering to a different book. I did like the niece. She was as cute kid. I find it hard to recommend this book. It really does not have much to offer. Except an empty purse. Adults. AD

I don't appreciate the cliff hanger. Conner finally figures out he loves Abby, and she loves him, that's the end of the story as far as I'm concerned. I won't be buying the next one, I can find out who she picks by reading the blog on the spin off..

This book is well written and I enjoyed it but I like to be able to wrap up a book or at least not left hanging beyond the necessity of a carry over book. There are enough characters that the author can develop into a series and give each their own ending.

It was a short read for as I couldn't seem to put it down...I was hooked right away! Loved the story of Abby & Connor. Little disappointed in the end, BUT I will get the rest of the books to see if there is a better outcome! (Here's to hoping anyway). This book made me laugh out loud at times, and clenched my heart at others! I will definitely be looking for more of Violet Dukes books!

It was a good book, but left out quite a bit about family ties. Did not like that it had no ending, just about forces you to buy next book for results. Hate not having an ending.
