At last the rest of the story! We all know (or think we know!) the monstrous details of the heinous crimes committed by Charles Manson & his malevolent followers. But this book finally gives an account of the sufferings of The Tate Family. In their own words!! The authors do a terrific job of using all available resources(letters, interivews, tapes, journals) to document one brave family's triumph over evil! Not an easy read...but definitley worth it!

For me, this is a clear-cut case of "caveat emptor"--"Let the buyer beware." Why? When I saw a news segment on "Good Morning America" w/ authors Alisa Statman and Brie Tate, I had the impression that the publishing of this account was sanctioned by Debra Tate, Sharon Tate's sister who took up the task of Tate family spokesperson/crime victims' advocate from Patti Tate (after Patti's death from cancer). That being said, please take the time to read Debra's response to the book's information on her website dedicated to Sharon. I wish I had thought to before purchasing this book. Like many, my thoughts were, 'Finally, the account of what the Tate family struggled through and won in the area of victims rights; not another lurid account of the grissly murders!' According to Debra's statement, Ms. Statman actually, at one time, lived in the guest house of the Cielo Dr. house. To be close to the murder site? If so, that's horrid, in my opinion. Furthermore, Debra states that Brie's last name, although Brie is Patti Tate's daughter, is not "Tate", but, "Ford". Those 2 pieces of info, alone, raise my suspicions that the authors are using the memory of Sharon Tate and the murders just to sell books! Also, according to Debra Tate, the author(s) describe the thoughts going through Sharon's mind during the murders--this is completely ludicrous and highly offensive to this woman's memory. Please, if you read the book, do so with a high degree of skepticism! Don't waste your money.

Finally a book to bring Sharon back to life and let readers know the kind of person she was. Great to finally meet her family and learn how the amazing love they held for one another kept them strong in the face of her horrendous murder. If you love Sharon Tate or if you've been a victim of violent crime..You must read "Restless"

I happened by this book at B&N and decided to pick it up...And, after that, I couldn't put it down. It's an amazing and inspiring story that I highly recommend. This was/is one of the most highly sensationalized crimes of my generation, but this is a perspective that's never been shared and will now rightly find its place amongst the many others. Cheers to the authors.

Really wonderful book that brings alive the story of the Tate family in the aftermath of Sharon's death. Maybe most interesting is the story of Doris Tate's journey from grieving, terrified victim to courageous, caring advocate - what a remarkable woman - I had no idea.

Regardless of whether this is a true and accurate account or not ot is a disjointed and unsatisfying read. The authors seemed unsure of whether their topic was Sharon, Patti, victims' rights, ... As a result, it was not a full exploration of ANY of the topics.

Why is this book in the $2.99 or less section... does anyone pay attention at barnes and nobles?

An insightful accounting not only of the crimes themselves but how they affected the victims' families. Most books on this subject only center around the horrific details of the crimes themselves. This book gives you insite into what the Tate family endured in 1969 and through the following 40 years including their advocacy for keeping the convicted murderers in prison. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in true crime stories. Well written and edited. Also contains many pictures of Sharon Tate and her family throught the years.

I am glad to finally read about this from a view other than the criminals. Kudos to sharon's mother, sister and neice for the courage to make sure those murders stay in prison.

This is a good book. It gives a differnt perspictive than the one you usually get , that being the side of the killers. The famlies are still dealing with the whole nasty mess all these many years later. God bless you Patti and your family.
