It began at an ultra-secret government laboratory. Experiments in limb regeneration-an unspeakable union of Medieval alchemy and cutting edge genetics result in the very germ of horror itself: a gene trigger that will reanimate dead tissue...any dead tissue.
Now it's loose. It's gone viral. It's in the rain.
And the rain has not stopped falling for weeks.
As the country floods and corpses float in the streets, as cities are submerged, the evil dead are rising.
And they are hungry.

Overall this was a fun book to read and though long (666 pp) it went quick. There was some repetition (e.g., how things smell) and too many descriptions of the different ¿looks¿ of the zombies. Yet, it was exciting, carried plenty of action, and the plight of the characters was intense. Published by a small press, it lacked a certain professionalism: too many typos, bad page breaks¿but if you¿re into zombies, don¿t let this bother you (it didn¿t bother me; just noticed it).
This book had been on my wish list for quite a while so when I got it for Christmas I was thrilled. I love good zombie books and all the reviews I had seen placed this book among the "must reads". Well after three days of reading I must say they are right it really is a great book, not of the Day by Day Armageddon, Eden, or Thunder and Ashes type but a very good read and it's longer so if you burn through books like I do you will be happy. The book is super dark it gives you that real creepy feeling where if you have someone you love you want to check on them just to be sure. The only thing I was not totally happy about was the ending which was good but not great. All and all a very worth while book that's worth the money.
