Bookish and proper Percival Tunstell finds himself out of his depth when floating cities, spirited plumbing, and soggy biscuits collide in this delightful conclusion to NYT bestselling author Gail Carriger's Custard Protocol series.

Percival Tunstell loves that his sister and her best friend are building themselves a family of misfits aboard their airship, the Spotted Custard. Of course, he'd never admit that he belongs among them. He's always been on the outside - dispassionate, aloof, and hatless. But accidental spies, a trip to Japan, and one smart and beautiful doctor may have him renegotiating his whole philosophy on life.

Except hats. He's done with hats. Thank you very much.

The final book of the third series set in an alternate world where the supernatural is real and fangs and fur are fashionable (except in Italy). I loved this book. It was fun to watch as Percy & Arsenic's relationship developed and all the glimpses of my favorite characters from the previous two series just added to my enjoyment. That scene with Aggie and the fountain was priceless! As was the one at the public bath... If you're new to the Parasol Protectorate world, this is not the place to start, but Miss Gail has given us an excellent Finish; Mademoiselle Geraldine would approve!

A little different pace due to Percy being the main character, but still a spiffing good read! One way I can judge a book is how I read it. This was a blend of rushing to find out what came next and a great need for it not to end. That, I think, is about as good as it gets. The usual characters are present with their unique foibles. The addition of a very sharp ship's doctor, who happens to be a woman, is great fun. I'm sorry this series is finished but I'm confident that Ms. Carriger will come up with more reading goodies for us all.

Fans of the Parasolverse will enjoy how everything comes together. There is romance with plenty of pining leading up to it. The adventure is suitably adventurous. I wish there had been more of the book set in Japan, but I suppose it's a sign of a good book when you want more of it. Read Poison Or Protect first.

I love this series & this is my favourite because I adore Percy (gingers rule!) Arsenic is fabulous. Also, breeches and leather is never wrong. I recommend all of her books.

The end of a series should always tie up loose ends and in such a delightful way. It was wonderful to get reacquainted with characters from earlier books and more fantastic were-creatures. I hope for more!

Simply beautiful end to the best universe out there.

There have been many series finales I've read. The epilogue in this book was the best I have ever read for closing a series. It left you with enough to be at peace with characters and not needing another book to answer ALL the questions. But if we got more Rue and crew of course I would read it!

Absolutely marvelous finish to a phenomenal series! Steampunk, romance, shape-shifting and vampires! Who could ask for more? Brava, Missouri Gail!
