Overview

Retreat From Love by Samantha Kane

An erotic historical romance.

A man with everything except his heart's desire.
?Frederick Thorne, Duke of Ashland, has been in love with Brett Haversham for years. If the only way to have him is to give him what he wants Freddy will share him, in bed and out, with the woman Brett loves. The woman who was Freddy's first love.?

A man sacrificing everything for the past.?
Brett Haversham is in love with two people he's sworn never to touch. But his desires prove to be stronger than his resolve when they both set out to seduce him--together.

?A woman with nothing left to lose.?
Anne Goode lost her fiancé Bertie in the war. Now his younger brother Freddy is back, all grown up into the handsome and powerful duke. And he's brought Bertie's best friend Brett with him. Lonely and already ruined, Anne can't resist taking both of them as her lovers.

Is the uncontrollable desire between the three enough to heal the wounds of the past and overcome the problems of the present? They must accept love rather than retreat from it.

I am a series fan but this threesome didn't live up to the high expectations I had for them. It's decent but didn't have the emotional development of the previous books. I also wasn't a huge fan of the heroine who seemed cold.

Another in the Brothers in Arms series which once again introduces us to Brett and Freddy. You finally learn the story of their coming together and what keeps them together and you meet Anne who was engaged to Freddy's brother who was killed in the war. You also come to find the connection between Anne and Brett. The reasoning behind Brett always keeping Freddy at a distance comes out also and the three of them form a close relationship and wonderful friendship which blossoms into love. However, nothing can ever be easy and you watch them work through their assorted problems and work to overcome them.

The whole 'Brothers in Arms' series is great! The story lines are fantastic, believeable and believe it or not fresh. Once I read the first 'Brothers in Arms' book I was hooked and purchased the rest on my next buying spree. If you like m/m and m/f/m you will love these!
