ABOUT THE BOOK: Career soldier Jake “The Snake” Sommers has made a few mistakes in his life, but none so terrible as forsaking the only woman he’s ever loved. But he’s finally conquered his inner demon, the one that thirsted only for blood. So, now he’s back. And he’s not leaving without Michelle. Unfortunately, her enemy has other plans. Plans to see her dead. Mother. Warrior. Lover. She’s the one he left behind... Michelle Carter has never forgiven Jake for abandoning her all those years ago. Now he’s suddenly back, after she’s finally begun to make a life for herself. But her safe, orderly world is about be blown apart. With a psychotic Las Vegas mobster gunning for her, she has no choice but to turn to Jake. Only there’s more at stake than her life. As they all head for a showdown, something that was never meant to be revealed is suddenly thrown into the light. And with a secret this hot, there’s bound to be an explosion. REVIEW: Holy crow, this was really good. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did and now I’m cursing the fact that I didn’t read this sooner. Many thanks to Netgalley for this ARC and the chance to review. Ms. Walker has a way with words and gives the reader such an insight into a secretive world. This, of course, is the third in the Black Knights series and it has me going in to buy the first two. Black Knights is based on a group of men who are Navy Seals, the best of their kind, she relays, who build up their own secret defense agency. These boys scream hotness and will have you laughing and crying all at once. Walker has done an amazing job at character building and keeping the reader in suspense until the very end. This particular story was woven with such conflict and a sweet ending that literally left me wanting more. I have to give it to Ms. Walker and her amazing literary ability. She is truly one author you don’t want to pass up. Five out of five stars for a job well done.

~ 3 Rev It Up Stars ~  Rev It Up is book three in the Black Knight Inc. series by Julia Ann Walker. I have loved every book up until this one. It has left me feeling torn. We get some drama, life changing secrets, and danger all around. I like the emotional upheaval all the characters have to work through to find their HEA, but this one felt way to easy. Yes, they both made mistakes, but I felt it takes more time to come to grips with everything. They did it too fast. I also love that every couple so far has known each other for some time, so the “insta-lust/love” seams more believable, because of that history. I also enjoy seeing authors work in previous couples and characters. It helps make it feel that much more real, interesting, and we get a deeper feeling for the relationship’s and friendship’s they have as a group. I also like how the author set’s us up for the next couple’s book, though in Rev It Up I found their story much more interesting then the actual couple of Jake and Michelle this book is about.  As for the main characters: I did like Jake “Snake” Sommers and understood why he had to leave, but Michelle Knight was just a whiny little twit. Jake stole the show for me. He knows he’s a little damaged and tortured, but he also knows what he wants. He’s a standup guy and these emotions came across.  As for the plot: Well it’s little guess at where the villains are concerned and I saw the other surprise secret coming. Yep, Michelle should have told Jake the truth and let him decided, instead of pushing her daddy issues onto the man she is “supposed” to love. Rev It Up and it’s oh-so-sexy cover was entertaining. Even though I ended up torn on this one, the author did a fantastic job with the secondary storyline and future couples that I still want to see what happens next. If you enjoy romantic suspense, sexy biker/military men and women, then I recommend giving this series a try. I was surprised with how much I am enjoying it.

Reviewed by: Jen Book provided by:Publisher Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I have to say, this series is just getting better as it goes along. If you read my review of Hell on Wheels, while I liked the book, there was too much set up and not enough romance. In the book, In Rides Trouble, I think Ms Walker was finally coming into her own with this series by crafting a solid, entertaining read. But with Rev It Up, I couldn’t put the book down. From page one, I was drawn into this story. Ms. Walker has a way of describing the action (and what action it is!) that made me feel like I was right in the middle of all that was going on. From the flashbacks to Jake’s time in the war in the Middle East, to being in the mind of a revengeful stalker, I found myself there… and it didn’t end until the last page. And those pages kept turning because I just had to know what was going to happen next. Were they going to find the stalker before someone else suffered? Was Jake going to finally win Michelle’s heart? There were so many twists and turns and a secondary plot (featuring Rock & Vanessa whom get the next book in the series) that I was very much entertained. I’ll admit that I guessed the bombshell that was dropped well before it was revealed, but Ms Walker’s handling of it was well done. I enjoyed the well-developed romance, loving it as Jake wears his heart on his sleeve and continuously breaks down Michelle’s fortified walls. I came away from this book with just a smidgen of a crush on Jake. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense, I highly recommend this series and I can’t wait for the next one!

When a madman starts targeting the Black Knights loved ones in order to get back for the death of his brother, Jake becomes Michelle's body guard. They had a past which of course ended badly and even though Jake is ready to lay it all out there for Michelle, she isn't very forgiving on the way Jake ended things. Since the last book ended with Jake storming in demanding to see Michelle, I knew their story was next. I didn't know anything about these two characters, so I was looking forward to starting fresh. Granted, you can't start the series with this book since there is a lot that happens that you need to have read the books in order but it was nice to not have a preconceived idea of what these characters are like. The story starts off in the past. The night when everything went bad and Jake drew into himself and took off. As the story progresses we find out more and more about Michelle and Jake's rocky relationship prior to him leaving and the events that followed. I think getting a back story really helped understand where the characters were coming from a bit more. I'm still a big fan of how the author weaves multiple stories and point of view's into one novel. We get the main characters, the villain, and upcoming headliners in one sitting. So we don't follow the same two people around the entire time. My only complaint was Jake. The extensive use of what I guess is surfer terminology really pulled me away from him. After reading "Yo" 3 times in a paragraph, I just wanted to hit him. I wouldn't mind if his "surfer slang" popped out here and there but it seemed a bit excessive at times and made it seem like the author was trying too hard to keep the surfer vibe alive. Aside from that though, I thought the story was great. I liked the suspense in this one a lot more than the last book and I also liked the big surprise moment in the story as well. I can't wait to read more of the series.

Ahhh. Julie Ann Walker always leaves me torn. I really enjoy her storylines... even if there's very little to guess at where the villains are concerned. They're a little different and can be exciting. And I like the emotional upheavel all of her characters have to work through to find their happily ever afters. And oh I LOVE that so far every couple has known each other for years so the insta-lust factor they all get hit with seems so much more believeable because they have a history and actually know the other person.  But man alive there are parts of the actual writing that just are not my thing. Walker loves cliche sayings and name dropping and for me after a while that gets incredibly old and just leaves me a bit frustrated. Rev It Up and it's oh-so-sexy cover was fairly entertaining. There's a hit out of the Black Knights and Jake winds up protecting Michelle who he desperately wants a second chance with. There's some drama from the past, some life changing secrets being kept and danger all around. So yeah it's got some excitement to it.  Yo I'm a surfer dude! Alright so I really liked Jake. Michelle was a decent heroine but Jake stole the show for me. He's a big ol hunk of a guy and knows what he wants. He's a little damaged and tortured over his past. He's a stand up guy though and I loved that he actually showed his emotions and didn't try to hide them away. Other than his penchant for surfer dude lingo and Yo, mama's thrown in he's pretty awesome. So I did enjoy him and his story quite a bit. One thing I think Walker does fantastic with is pulling in secondary storylines and future couples and sparking an interest in their stories. Despite my frustrations with the actual writing style she still has me wanting to see what happens next. I swear she's like crack!  While I don't think we're really a great match up of author/reader I know a lot of people who absolutely adore this series. So, do I recommend it? Eh, I guess, yes, in a way. It's a decent romantic suspense but it's just an average series for me. Fine for killing time with some sexy biker/military men and women but not something that really rocks my reading world, ya know?

## Another fantastic read. This book had suspense, romance and definitely some heartwrenching drama. Jake and Shell have both made some major mistakes when it comes to each other. OMG, the way Jake treated her that day at the base, those incredibly hurtful words, I never would've spoken to him again. And staying away for years? Man, she was forgiving. At first she seemed a little witchy, but only because she was trying to protect her heart. The author conveyed the hurt they both experienced extremely well. And I loved the scenes with her little boy. He was a gem. Another thing I loved was the way the author wrote Jake's inner dialogue and thoughts and of course the 'manly' banter between the men. So amazingly real. Definitely worth your time.

I have enjoyed the whole series. The men are tough but sweet. The ladies are smart and sexy. Cant wait for more.

Two heart broken people. A determination to right past wrongs until a closely held secret nearly destroys what could be. A creepy villian and high tension. All equal an interesting and satisfying book of high octane entertainment.

I wasn’t so sure about Rev It Up by Julie Ann Walker when I started reading it. Once I got past the prologue the feel was just a little different than the first two and I liked those so I was unsure about it. I worried a little that Michelle, the heroine was going to annoy me a bit with her narrations of why she should not be with Jake, the hero. However, it didn’t take long for the book to really take off and take me for quite a ride. Rev It Up indeed. Jake enters the story as simple as you can imagine. He shows up at the Knights shop and says he is there for Michelle. We get an “I love you” right away from this guy. What hero does that? Normally they are so confused about what they want and fight the love, but not in Rev It Up. The love is there. It’s Michelle that fights it. Okay, well then Jake fights it a little bit later. Walker adds in several twists and turns to her story and always seems to let her readers ride those out with the characters which is kinda cool. While I like to know everything all at once, a book is a journey to be lived out. The adventures in Rev It Up are a little more intense than previous books in my opinion because we are in the head of the crazy villain Johnny when he does some very evil things. I had a tough time with those but when justice was served it was all that much better. Walker continues to put the characters we know and love into different and original situations. Back to the romance between Jake and Michelle. It is unlike other romance stories. It is like real life where you can love a person one minute and hate what they do to you the next and get completely irrational because of the hurt. There were a lot of back and forth moments between Jake and Michelle. Blame and bad decision making on both of their parts. It was incredibly moving to watch them work it out. Another pleasure to reading Rev It Up is the appearance of former main characters and getting to watch Frank and Becky of In Rides Trouble (Book 2) was quite fun. Walker introduces future characters in such a great way too. The are weaved expertly into the current plot but also set up their own plot. I can’t wait to read Rock and Vanessa’s book next! If you like romantic suspense, you really need to check out the Black Knights, Inc series. It’s so good.

What a story! Walker has developed a world that is vibrant & larger than life. The fast paced, action intensive story kept me on my toes throughout. The intensity of the tale kept me coming back for more. The suspense and danger was so real that it was palpable. Walker combines suspense with emotional upheaval in a manner that kept me on my toes. The mix of secret operatives with lust and true love was quite the mix. At the same time, the plot of the tale kept me on my toes & guessing. Walker’s engaging characters took this story from great to fantastic. Their interactions with one another drew me into their world and let me feel as if I really knew them. I love how all of BKI is part of the story. There are no minor characters, yet no one outshines the main characters. Their second chance at a relationship was definitely a treat. Walker writes accents like a pro. The dialogue truly enhances the novel. Walker has created an emotionally engaging, wildly suspenseful novel with all the heat that we’ve come to know and love from her work. This novel is a winner on its own and as part of this fantastic series.

The first 2 in the series were ok but I had to skim through alot because I lost interest. This book, which really wasn't about a Black Knights member was much better.. one thing about all the books is there are other stories within the main story to introduce you to upcoming books and you can forget who the main characters are. I borrowed the first 3 from someone and now have to buy the rest. Hopefully I'm not disappointed.

Great book. Well written and I loved how the characters from other books are still involved. The twist was unexpected. I honestly did not see that coming. Love this series. :)

4.25 stars:  REV IT UP is the third instalment in Julie Ann Walker’s adult, contemporary, romantic Black Knights Inc action/suspense series focusing on a tight knit group of former Navy SEALs, Special Ops and ex-military men. This is Jake and Michelle’s storyline. Michelle is Frank Knight’s sister and the woman that Jake pushed away four years earlier. The focus of the storyline is Jake’s return to civilian duty and his need for the woman he left behind. But many things have changed since Jake walked away and it will be an uphill and dangerous battle trying to convince Michelle that she is the only woman he has ever loved. Julie Ann Walker pulls the reader into a story of second chances and forgiveness. Jake and Michelle have both made mistakes but when the Black Knights are targeted for extermination, the collateral damage will affect everyone including the people that they love. The relationship between our leading couple is tense and full of what ifs and whys. Questions need to be answered; sins needs to be forgiven; and the truth must be revealed before anyone is able to move on. The sex scenes are steamy, seductive and fuel the imagination. REV IT UP is an exciting story where secrets fuel the suspense; where revenge is only a moment away; and where family is everything. The plot is well paced; the secondary characters bring a semblance of familiarity to the storyline; the writing style is evenly paced, evenly balanced and welcoming. Julie Ann Walker adds another dimension into the Black Knights family-a family that begins to grow one generation at a time.
