About the Author

Cindy Wren was born in the rural farming community of Lucerne Valley, California. Putting pen to paper since age eleven, words just naturally came together for Cindy. She moved all along the west coast and eventually planted her roots with her husband in Western Washington where she raised a daughter, Briauna, and son, Randy, who both have a talent for the written word.

Writing, poetry specifically, seems to be a family trait. Cindy was honored and surprised to receive the poetry of her maternal Great Uncle John "Jack" Gudmundson. John Gudmundson was born in 1905, in Foam Lake, Canada. He arrived in the US at age nineteen and eventually became a naturalized citizen. He spent most of his years living in California. He had one daughter, Jackie, with his first wife, Carmen, in 1940. He later married his second wife, Bernice, who is the subject of many of the poems he wrote. "Jack" died on June 11, 1966, the day after his sixty-first birthday. His death came a full nine years years before Cindy was born. The poetry of these two being published in the same collection is nothing short of incredible - another testament to the treasure of the written word and family ties.
