REVENGE (Coming Home #2) by Meli Raine

Everything I know about my life is a lie. The more I dig into my father’s death the more I find myself in peril.

Mark turns out to be a liar, someone I thought I could trust. He’s not what he seems, and worst of all, a part of me can’t let go.

My boss might be an international drug lord disguised as a dean at one of the top five universities in the country.

Like anyone’s going to believe me if I try to out him?

But I can’t help myself. I should learn to keep my mouth shut.

Someone’s decided to do that for me.

Make me quiet once—

And for all.

REVENGE is book 2 in the Coming Home romantic suspense trilogy by USA Today bestseller Meli Raine.

I can't believe I paid for this. Pages and pages of the same thing with the maturity of a 17 year old. It's not often I give up on a book but even when I started just skimming the pages hoping to get to a real story it never happened.

As with the first book in this series, this one ends with a serious cliffhanger. While worth 99 cents for the entertainment, I'm not invested enough in the characters to pay 2.99 for the next one. The story is interesting and enough secrets to keep it that way. I am curious how it turns out. That part is good. The overly flowery and redundant descriptions of Carrie's every feeling gets a little old though. Maybe not just a little. Maybe a lot.

Well written with an exciting plot. She has a knack with words.

Noooooo! Why did this have to end like this? What a cliffhanger!!! I couldn't put this down! This is getting better and better! I don't want to give anything away but you have to read this book. Thank goodness the third book will be released so and I can't wait to get my hands on it! This starts off as the first book ended and we finally start getting to the truth of the matter a lot of info is revealed int his part but they are still questions left to be answered. This is a must read series. I received a copy of this book for a honest review...

received an ARC for an honest review What can I say but OMG!! This is the second book in the series. It picks right up where the first one let off. Carrie was taken, but it was Mark who has her. He is trying to protect her from everything. Everything is all coming back to the Dean. There are missing women showing up dead and missing appendages. Amy is still missing. Mark, what an alpha male!! Wouldn't mind him rescuing me any day. Carrie and Mark finally open up and get everything on the table. They take things to the next step. Mark is DEA! This book had it all, the twists that you don't see coming. The love scenes were hot. Oh and to get to see Chase and Allie!! Just to see what they are up to and how they are involved. One hell of a cliffhanger. Can't wait to see how the story ends with book 3!!

This is an amazing continuation of the Coming Home series!!! This installment has many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't put it down! I enjoyed seeing Mark and Carrie become a couple, and join forces to fight all that is conspiring against them. I also liked catching up with Chase and Allie from Meli Raine's Breaking Away series! I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens!!!

OK so I thought the cliffie from book one had be waiting for book 2 this ending has me more excited about book 3. There are so many questions and no answers. This series, just like the previous Allie series has me waiting for the next part. The characters are so well written that you are drawn to them and want to find out what is happening next. At the same time it is like a scarey movie where you are constantly asking yourself why the character goes outside when they hear a noise instead of staying safely in their home. And why is it so hard for Carrie to listen to anyone? She knows she could be in danger but she just keeps putting herself into situations which put her in danger! So in this book Mark reveals himself to Carrie - but is he really who he says he is? What is he still hiding? So did this book really tell us who the drug lord is? Or is it just smoke and mirrors? I have always thought that something was off about Carrie's father's business partners but I can't put my finger on it. This book has so many plot lines I can't wait for them to be connected. It was nice to see the characters from the previous series brought into this book. I was wondering how Allie and Chase are doing. Can't wait for book 3!!!

Oh my, where to begin. Carrie is learning that all things she has known for three years just might not be true. She can't believe that Mark has lied to her. Can she trust anyone? Will they ever find Amy and who kidnapped her? Carrie is having weird nightmares and it seems they might be coming true. Can Mark keep her safe? It was hard to put this book down, I had to know more and now that I am finished with book 2, I need book three NOW. The suspense is gonna kill me, I have to know how it ends. If you love a great story that is filled with heartbreak, heartache, and suspense, then this series is for you. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end and leaving you screaming for more. I fell in love with Meli Raine and her writing style when I read Chasing Allie and have read everything in this series and I look forward to reading more from her. Chasing Allie is part of the Breaking Away series and the Coming Home series continues from there. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

I was gifted a copy of this book for review. I have been completely floored by this series. Carrie is trying to clear her father's name however in the process she has stumbled into much more than she could have ever bargained for. The horror of reality and her dreams are becoming more than one person should handle. Her world continues to be thrown off axis. Mark is so much more than what he appears. I love these two together but I have a feeling that all of the secrets between them have yet to be revealed. The plot twists continue to leave me on the edge of my seat. I am not going to spoil this by going into detail about the storyline but I am going to say where this story stops left my heart pounding and I am anxious to see what happens next!

OMG, where to begin. Revenge, the second book of Meli Raine's new Coming Home trilogy continues the intrigue that Return (the first book) created and doesn't let up one bit from cover to cover. Well, maybe for a short interlude during the more erotic sections but, then again, it's just a different type of intrigue. Carrie and Mark are able to work through their past issues and reunite once many of their truths are revealed and especially after Mark acknowledges that he finally realized Carrie's dad had been set up. Unfortunately it occurred too late to save Carrie's father and the breakthrough of finding the necessary evidence to bring down all the wrongdoers has yet to be uncovered. And, to add insult to injury, it appears this illegal network is now working to set up Carrie and Mark. Finally, although some of the kidnapped victims begin showing up dead and horribly mutilated and there are some hints about the kidnappings, we still don't have the necessary connections to fully understand it. For those of us who have read Meli Raine's other trilogy, Breaking Away, you will be excited to find that Chase and Allie are brought back in this series, as well (in addition to several of the villains). I am hoping that the conclusion to this current series will bring closure to some of the unresolved business from that trilogy and maybe a jail cell (or, better yet, a death sentence) to some of the still-free villains who continue to reign terror on a multitude of very innocent people. Oh, and did I forget to mention the cliffhanger??? It's impossible to adequately review this book without mentioning the cliffhanger.... Arghhhhhh There are so many mysteries to uncover and so many individuals who seem to be involved, in some capacity, to all that is occurring in this story, that I was beginning to wonder how it could all be pulled together. Then, suddenly, I realized Meli Raine was somehow doing it and things began to click together. I can't even wait the two weeks to learn how this will all be finalized. Although reading the Breaking Away trilogy first is not necessary to read and enjoy this series, I would really urge anyone who hasn't yet read it to consider doing that. Just don't stop there because, as much as I enjoyed that story, this one has (thus far) been even better!

Revenge is an incredibly exquisite and thrillingly action-packed journey that takes us into a realm of darkness and oblivion that some are all too familiar with. We understand and accept the harshest parts of life when it comes our way, but what makes us stumble and stutter is whenever we are confronted with small pieces of pure and precious gold that are meant to be a haven of comfort and support. We don’t know how to deal with the small slice of Heaven that has been sent directly to us, and as a result we fumble around in the darkness of our minds trying to comprehend what is happening. Instead, we need to stop rationalizing and contemplating and instead just allow the peace, love, and hope that it brings to fill us up and heal our hearts. The soothing respite may not last long, so take it and hold it close for as long as you have it. Carrie has been stripped bare of everything she ever loved and cherished in her life, so to have it given back to her with interest is something she isn’t able to deal with easily. She desperately wants to trust and love easily, but she isn’t sure that power is within her grasp anymore. No matter how hard she tries to fight it, Mark refuses to let her drift away from him. He finally has her back, and he absolutely refuses to allow her to slip away. As he beings to understand what all she has gone through, he knows that she needs him more now than ever before, and he is determined to not only keep her safe but to show her how much she has always meant to him. Only with his unconditional love and trust can she hope to heal her heart one piece at a time. Will Carrie finally accept the help and love she craves from her friends, or will she see that coming back was the biggest mistake she ever made? If I thought Carrie was a strong and courageous woman in Return, then Revenge just confirmed what my heart has been telling me all along. Even in the midst of her crumbling world around her, she is able to see the pain of others and does what she can to help them. She is sto much stronger then she gives herself credit for, and luckily those around her see that and do everything they can to strengthen, encourage, and love her. They are the courage she needs to face each day, the wings she needs to allow her heart to once again soar, and the hope she is seeking to allow her to see the dawning of a new day. Loving friends like Mark and Elaine show her with each step that she is more then she thinks she is and that she can become the woman that she knows is waiting to break free from within. Meli Raine continues to amaze and astound me with her highly creative and deeply emotional masterpieces. I am unable to read one of her stories and not feel with my soul and listen with my heart to the beauty and the truth that lies within her words of hope and challenge. Her stories are truly soul searing in their simple yet powerful messages of true, unfaltering love and unabashedly honest hope. I encourage you to pick up one of her books and experience these outstandingly unique treasures for yourself.

I received an arc of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in this series. Carrie has came home to clear her fathers name, and her and Mark have found their way back to each other, but now who is behind all these kidnappings and drugs? Is it the dean as they suspect or someone else? And what does Mikey have to do with it? This series is very addicting and we got to see Chase and Allie from previous books. Cannot wait vor the conclusion of this series! Awesome books!

Desperate to clear her father's name, Carrie and Mark team up and share secrets. Family secrets and job descriptions that will test their trust in each other. Will Carrie listen to Mark? Can he protect her? Who is safe to run to and who is their enemy? An excellent storyline of cloak and dagger and steamy sexy scenes, Coming Home Revenge is a must read!

This is the second book in Meli Raine's Coming Home series and it was all that I expected it to be and so much more! This book starts where Return ends...I thought that the first book kept me at the edge of my seat well this one does as well! I was happy to see that Mark and Carrie finally admit that they should be together...well Mark knew it all along it just took a little longer for Carrie to realize that she had to stop fighting her feelings for Mark and just be with him...they are intense, hot and it just makes you keep reading...this book as the first one had me on the edge of my seat...I will warn you that it also ends with a cliffhanger...one that has you saying no it can not end this way...please can the next book be out tomorrow so that you can see what happens...who is it that is trying to tear them apart..who is taking all these women! Will Carrie clear her father's name... It was great to see Chase and Allie in this book as well...you find out how Mark and Chase are related...I loved Meli's first series - Breaking Away and this one is just as amazing...I look forward to reading the next and final book in this series....well any of her writings for that matter..I was honored to receive an ARC copy of this book from the author

This is the 2nd book in Meli Raine's Coming Home series. Carrie and Mark finally find their way back to each other. Someone is trying to tear their worlds apart. If you loved Meli's The Break Away Series, you will get you hear from some of those characters in this book. Will Amy be found? Will Carrie find justice for her dad? Read this book and maybe you will get some of those answers. This book ends with a huge cliffhanger.

Wow I thought book one had me on the edge of my seat till I read book two. It's a great story but again I'm left needing book 3 now. Can't wait to read the conclusion in book 3. Loved that Allie & Chase appear in this book and are still going strong. Love the suspense it keeps me reading on
