Since the first book -Always: A Legacy Novel, Cat and Cross had intrigued me with their 'Romeo & Juliet' like romance. In the last book, I was left broken by these two and how everything seemed set against them. Well if Always was the heartache, then Revere is the glue to piece back all those shattered pieces back together again. There was an event ( and I'm not giving out spoilers) where I thought Cat and Cross would never get their happy ending but thank god it was only a bump in the road to their long-awaited Forever. If you haven't read Always, this is a must!! As its the only way to feel for these characters on a deeper level, but even if you haven't, and for some reason, you pick this book up first, you will still fall in love with them and cheer along when they get back to their destined path. Superperb in every way!

Though she has come a long way, Catherine Marcellos continues to be one hot, complicated mess, my fellow mafia romance book loving friends. But thanks to a mafia linked therapist, she certainly has made progress these past seven years. Being open and honest with her family, especially Dante, her mafia don father, well, that is definitely something she is still struggling with. I certainly gave a big sigh of relief when big secrets finally get revealed and new light is shed on misunderstandings and misplaced hate/judgement. The life lesson learned here is not to be a hypocrite and blame others when you are not being honest with yourself. Yeah, be careful when you whip out and take aim at someone with a blame pointing finger, folks, because sometimes you wind up having to turn it on yourself. Cross continues to be completely crazy about Catherine. Though he has stayed away for years, enough is enough, and this gun running, bad boy is going after his woman and dares anyone to get in his way. Yeah, this patient hero may come across temperamental and half cocked at times, but he has proven he’ll do what’s necessary, even if it means taking a beating and a bullet, to protect his lady love. I was still blindsided though by one poor lapse of judgment that caused all hell to break loose. At least it served a purpose. It set the stage for quite a bit of explosive, nail biting drama, where lives hung in the balance, and unlikely sides had to pull together to work things out. Of course, it is very likely the aftermath will continue to play out in the next book, Unruly, which I can’t wait to read. Title: Revere, Series: Cross + Catherine (Book 2), Bethany-Kris, Pages: 378, part two of a sequel, should read book 1 first, VERY graphic smexy scenes with lusty language, some graphic mafia violence, attempted rape, lots of back and forth talk about emotional issues, drug dealing/gun running mafia business. Book 1 - Always Book 2 - Revere Book 3 - Unruly (I received a free advanced reader copy provided via the author in exchange for an honest review. No type of compensation was given to this reviewer. There is no relationship or affiliation between the reviewer and the author/publisher.)

Revere is an amazing story about two adolescents who are now adults. It encompasses three generations of the same family and takes us down memory lane. Cross is settled in his role with the mafia. He has grown up and his principles remain the same. There is one piece missing in his life. Catherine has learnt to stand on her own two feet, but some old habits die hard. Pleasing others isn't always that easy. It's been seven years since Cross and Catherine saw each other. So much has changed, but some things stay the same. Inadvertently, they have to cross paths and the past doesn't appear to be so far away. There have been misunderstandings which could now be a barrier. When the lies and deceits come to the surface, they only cause more hurt and anger. True love never dies, though! Seeing the three generations of the Marcellos and how they have evolved is quite something. Cal's past is not easy to forget under the current circumstances and Cross maturity shines. In his own arrogant way! Can't help but love him. There are some strong messages within this story. It's soulful with potent emotions. Cross and Catherine face some strong oppositions as well as dangerous situations. Good intentions can sometimes be more damaging. I have loved each and everyone of the stories in this series, but this one is something special. It hits all the right spots and this incredible love story will not be easy to forget. And.... there is more. The preview of the next instalment has piqued my interest and I look forward to see what transpires next. I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
