Purpose: The purpose is to help students of ultrasonography prepare for the registry exam. This is an excellent tool. The questions are excellent and the answers are nicely detailed.
Audience: According to the author, it is written for sonographers or physicians who are preparing for the ARDMS Registry examination. Also, it can be used by educators in ultrasound or sonographers who are looking for some type of review.
Features: The book covers basic principles of ultrasound physics, normal and abnormal abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology, and small parts. The answers are right next to the questions and given in detail. The graphics are kept simple in detail throughout. Some of the images are particularly grainy and hard to interpret with little or no clinical information.
Assessment: This is an excellent review book of basic questions to help the ultrasonographer review for the registry exam or to aid the educator. The best feature is that the answers are given right next to the questions and in full detail. The graphics are a good complement to the various questions.
