Editorial Reviews

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Reeti K Joshi, MD (Washington University Medical Center)
Description: Part of the At a Glance series, this is a quick, succinct review of key concepts in rheumatology, orthopedics, and trauma.
Purpose: It is designed to present basic anatomy, clinical applications, pitfalls, and red herrings in the diagnosis of various diseases of muscles, bones, joints, and nerves.
Audience: It is intended for learners at all levels, both preclinical and clinical. It is an excellent book for residents and medical students new to orthopedics, rheumatology, and trauma.
Features: The book covers a wide variety of useful topics. Color diagrams and cartoons are exceptionally user friendly. I was able to read the book cover to cover at a busy airport and retain the key concepts, which speaks highly of the material and the presentation. I would have liked even more coverage of rheumatology.
Assessment: Overall, this was an excellent addition to my reading list. It is a must-read for those in the first three months of their rheumatology, orthopedics, or trauma subspecialty fellowships.
